This is an electric start machine. What happen is there is a power outage for days. Is there an alternate start system?

Asked by: youyou22
Although a slightly different model than the one I have (I have the unit with the LED Lights), there should be a pull cord to start. I have never seen a snow blower that only has electric start as the only means to start it. I have seen pull cord as the only means and then others that have pull start and an electric start option. If you look at the photos, it looks like it has a pull start. Worst case, head into the store to have a look.

So for the starter, is there a battery that you charge, or must you plug the unit in , to start it ?

Asked by: harverama
You must plug it in to start it.

Does this unit have a headlight?

Asked by: Bassmaster
This model no. There's a more expensive model that has a light, but mechanically the same. It does have the generator on the flywheel, so you can add your own. The plug hangs out near the starter. I added a 20" led light bar and two 4" led floods and got an MTD heated handgrip set (for the wiring harness/plugs) ended up building my own harness anyhow.

does this item has an electric start

Asked by: Wavernea
It does...but needs to be plugged in to the house (110v) so for me that was a huge let down and pretty well useless (I felt mis-led). Would have only required a small battery (like my lawn mower) BUT it starts VERY easy with the pull cord. Second season first start up, -10° set the choke, primed the fuel (I always pull the cord slow twice to get things moving and help draw the fuel in....to my surprise, it fired on the first slow pull.

Just picked up this snowblower and when I press the auger level, a loud grinding noise can be heard as gears engage. The noise can only be heard for a second as it engages but it is loud and concerning. Does this sound normal?

Asked by: Gearbox Inspector
The machine I bought has the same problem. A loud crashing of gears each time the blower engages. The auger is not touching the ground and is clear of the housing.

Does not say self propelled but the next model up say it is so what is the difference

Asked by: Baba G
It says it has forward and reverse speeds. I guess they put that in there so you know you can walk faster or slower... Nooo it's self propelled

Snowblower - 2-Stage - 208 CC - 24" - Grey is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Terrible Assembly Instructions but Seems Durable I know I’m not the best mechanically inclined person but, wow, the setup and assembly instructions were by far the worst I’ve ever seen w.r.t. other items I’ve assembled. Ended up not being able to set the blower rotation rod due to the bolt on the handle not coming off. I assumed this was the only way to fit it?? With terrible instructions I still did manage to get it done with help from YouTube. Blower seems pretty solid, started on first pull but have yet to start it with the electric starter nor have I had a chance to use it in deep snow. This is Alberta so I’m sure I will get that chance soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the price The chute throw wing nut that holds the angle you want to move the snow stripped the first few times of adjustment. The heavier the snow, the faster it changes and has to be hand adjusted often. The carb tends to get gunky fast and the blower will start to idle surge. The belt drive that engages the auger slips and will have have to be adjusted. Those are the cons. Pros. Price and power. If its in your budget and you know your way around a motor its fine. its not a lot of work to maintain but Someone who doesnt will be buying a new one after a few years. Spend more money or call a plow. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not buy again I bought this snowblower last winter , it runs ok , it’s not great in wet heavy snow has a hard time, the metal chute is really cheap and thin , the bolt for tightening the chute adjustment just spins and will not tighten , I called customer service, I have to bring it to a warranty repair center to have this chute looked at , I live in Sudbury and the closest one is Owen Sound (400km) will not send anything. So keep that in mind if you buy this, if you don’t live near their repair centre might as well not even have warranty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple Great Value Snow Blower I just bought this a couple days ago from Lowe's and got it assembled in no time at all by watching the video on youtube. Filled in the oil with the supplied oil. I use 93 octane gasoline. Turned on the key, closed the choke, Throttle half way, pushed the gas primer twice, pushed the start button. It starts in a second...... SWEEEEET .... now we just have to wait for the snow to fall ... that's depressing ... lol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is a great unit!! Bought the unit last summer after vowing not to shovel the driveway again. Assembly was straightforward and operation is easy. The electric start is a real bonus as it starts easily even in low temps. I enjoyed using it as it handled fairly deep snowfalls(10 to 12 inches) no problem. It certainly had enough power to handle the job. My only complaint is that the headlight doesn't work. I highly recommend this unit..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product, not good manual come with box.. assembly is not easy, because assembly manual is NOT friendly. you better see youtube. Product looks very reliable. well made product with this price. start with first pull. there is no grease on chute joint part. you need grease. give 4 star because of manual. except manual, this must be 5 star.
