Does this range have an electrical plug / outlet on the top of the back panel?
No, it does not...

We are currently shopping for a new range and in reading reviews for Maytag I have seen several with 5 star ratings, while the body of the review is quite negative, finishing with the statement “No, I do not recommend this product.” Why bother?
Does this range slide against the back wall or do you need to leave space between the back wall and the appliance? Do all slide-in ranges go against the back wall.

Bad quality
I received my oven (YMES8800FZ1) on June 22, 2018. As our kitchen was in renovation, we only started using it in mid-July. After only two months of use (we are today September 11, 2018) the nickel finishing begins to peel. This is the first time I bought a Maytag brand oven, I thought I had chosen a quality brand ! I am disappointed and frustrated with my purchase! I really hope to have a repair, it's unacceptable that after two months my oven is so damaged. I just saw in the comments that I'm not the only person with this situation !!

Love to bake from
I love my new oven!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I purchased this oven teo months ago and absolutely love it! I bake and cook a lot and this oven is does not let me down. It is super spacious, I can fit two muffin pans side by side on one rack. I can use the convection and bake two casseroles at the same time using different rack configuration. It bakes evenly and perfectly every time. I never thought I would use the warming drawer but it’s great to warm the plates/ serving dishes prior to filling them with food. I also love the timer. I can place the food in the oven, go pick up the kids at school and come home to a dinner that’s ready for the table. Perfect oven for a busy family.

Looks nice
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wish I woulda known more about what I wanted in a stove before I bought this. The timer alert settings has only one option one single beep that repeats after a minute or so my house is busy and I need a lot more than a single beep to let me know my foods done! I hate that there are no covers for cracks along side of stove where stove meets countertop most slide in ranges have covers that keep the gap covered. Only 4 burners 2 small and two big are not enough for me. In the end I wish I would have gotten a gas stove with more burners!

Love the convection oven!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] One thing that are cooked me right off the bat about this oven, was that it doesn't have a lip that fits over the side counter. Our previous range did, and so I anticipated this one too. I assumed that was part of the point of a slide-in range, but I guess that was my misinterpretation. I love the convection feature, it especially works well with the broiling. My food gets done so fast! I have also noticed that after the oven has been turned off, there is a slight humming noise, maybe a fan? I've never noticed that on a previous oven.

All the Desired Features
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have only had this 2 weeks and am loving it. I haven't used the convection oven yet, but with the Holidays just around the corner I look forward to trying out all of the features. In buying My First Oven/Range Ishopped and researched for sometime before making a decision on finding the features that I really wanted. I loved the warming door the first time I used it, for keeping breakfast items warm while I did the eggs. There is the fan that remains on after using the oven, but it is very soft sounding. Not giving it a 5 just yet, that will come when I see how reliable it is going to be,

Poor design
Ive had this just under two years. The design has caused the knobs to scratch pretty bad. The paint is coming off the stove top control panel So cheap looking. The computer needs to be reset often and it runs 30 degrees less than what its set at.

Not the Maytag range I was expecting to get.
We did a major kitchen redo when we purchased our condo after moving last summer when all the appliances (from Maytag) were purchased and installed in late July. I do not like the Aqua Clean system as it does not take off even the slightest dirt/grease spots despite repeated attempts. Shortly after that I find that there is a big chip of what I thought was stainless steel trim on the top but apparently is paint that has worn or fallen off? For what this appliance cost, I would have expected better quality, especially from Maytag.

Pros and Cons
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have been using my new Range for the past month and there are many good points that I enjoy such as the convection oven and dual heating zones on one of the ceramic top burners however, I do find that the units on the back of the stove take a long time to heat water for boiling rice and they are not able to maintain their heat at a low level when cooking items such as brown rice leading to longer cooking times and/or adjustments to temperature in order to have meals prepared on time.
The buttons, and mechanical features appear to be working well and I like the look of the stove, but it has not been meeting my expectations as were suggested by the retailer.
Overall, I would give it a fair rating
