What is the amperage of the saniswift ?

Asked by: Serge1955
A 1/4 hp single phase 110 volt motor draws approx 4.8 amps while a 1/2 hp draws approx 7 amps at full draw. You would be safe estimating this unit to be 5.5 amps at full draw.

can this pump be used for a basement shower?

Asked by: John23179

My need is for pumping basement washing machine wastewater up to overhead drain pipe. Will the pumping system handle the typical domestic solids that get concentrated in laundry wastewater ?

SANIFLO Saniswift - White is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great features, but OK machine The reason I chose this pump (for the second time) is it's the only one I found that has a drain inlet at the bottom of the unit. This means that your sink drainpipe doesn't have to be high above the unit. In my case I have the pump behind a wall so that it can't be seen or heard as much and the only way that is possible is with the drain inlet pipe at the floor level. As far as reliability, it's not great. The first unit I bought 5 years ago didn't work at all because a switch didn't function. I replaced that under warranty and then the next unit worked for about 4 years until the fan blade inside came loose and started hitting the top of the lid (making a high pitched squeal). I was able to fix that myself temporarily but after another 6 months the fan blades broke off completely. That's when I purchased and installed a new unit, which is working. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very noisy pump This unit is small, and was able to fit under our sink with lots of room to spare. The pump is noisy, and has to stay on while the tap is on. Even with the smallest amount of water used the pump comes o. I would have preferred a large tank, but it's installed and we'll have to live with it. I suggest going bigger if you can.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Set and forget Really like the pump, after setting it up I don't even notice it (well, aside from a short soft noise when it pumps the water).
