Rated 2 out of 5 by from Low Quality and low power for a Dremel. I have had this Dremel 200 for 1 year now and I'm not impressed with the low power of this model. It has 2 speeds, low and high. Many times low does not work. It will either fail to start or it barely runs at what seems like 1000 rpm with No Power. I cannot do any work on low speed. Hi speed is OK and if I run the Dremel on high for at least 1 minute and then switch to low, the speed increases to maybe 4000 rpm. So you have to warm up the drill for 1 minute on high before low speed will work. Why ? I tried another model 200 and it works the same way. I expect more from Dremel for the $50 price paid ! Choose another model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for small jobs I bought this for my girlfriend to do a small jewelery box. It was a small tool and I did not think it would be very good in my wood shop. I built a custom Book Case for a lady and when she was goning to pick it up she notice a small area that was uneven. She did not want to get it till it was fixed. My electric planer was to bigand the Oak wood grain came together in two direction. Belt sander would not work. My girlfriend said have you tryed the Dremel,so I tried it and in 10 min the problem was fixed. Since then I have purchase a plung router, router bits, cutting head and a few other bits all for my girlfriend. Lol. The Dremel family of Tools are great for hobbies, small jobs and to save you when your in a pickle. Bill

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nice Tool But Consider The Next Step Up At Minimum I have used Dremel rotary products for many years and I have to say I am disappointed with this one. The low speed has very little torque and stalls easily and the high speed is a bit fast for delicate work. If you plan to use a flex attachment the low speed torque is even worse and the high (33,000 RPM) on the high speed will heat up your flex shaft even with minimal bending of the cable on a frequently cleaned and dry lubed cable. Consider another model with more than 2 speeds. On the plus side Dremel has added the ability to consumer replace motor brushes and extend service life of the tool, just don't let the brushes get too short before replacement. A tool for this is also provided and be sure to follow the break in procedure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dremel 200 Series Overall it did the job for which it was purchased - removing grout from two tile floor that are over 20 years old. The smaller bits do tend to break and/or wear down. They can be expensive but they do grind out the old grout. In one floor the grout came out a fine powder. The other floor had some mortar or mastic mixed in and I lost 4 bits there.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A little misleading My previous Dremel of 10+ years finally quit and I needed a quick and inexpensive replacement. I went to Lowes and saw this on an endcap on sale for $40 and decided to purchase. I have two complaints about this unit: 1. The packaging has a handle that I took to be part of a case - it's not. This item does not come with a case. Why a small, lightweight box would have a handle other than to fool someone into thinking there was a case is beyond me. 2. The dremel is noisy and raspy, especially at higher speeds. My previous Dremel always sounded smooth, much like an airplane engine, as it revved up. This one sounds like it's on the verge of having an internal explosion. I've only had it for a couple weeks and it's performed the jobs I've needed thus far, I just hope it's quality doesn't turn out to be poor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an amazing little tool. I was able to cut through metal bolts, shape bamboo and trex composite decking material with ease. Just a tool I needed. Haven't tried all features but very satisfied sofar.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dead after 3 uses The reason I purchased a rotary tool from Dremel was because I assumed it would last me more than a few uses. I had purchased an off brand rotary tool before from Harbor Frieght to save money and it only lasted through one project. You get what you pay for, I thought. So I spent an extra twenty dollars on a Dremel 200 series. If I had known it would only last as long as the knockoff I would have continued to buy the knockoff and save twenty dollars every time I purchased a new rotary tool. Lesson learned I suppose. I went so far as to spend ANOTHER twenty dollars on replacement parts, which didn't fix the tool. So, now I'm out seventy dollars on a rotary tool that doesn't work anymore and I have to spend more money to buy a new one. I won't be looking into Dremel rotory tools when I purchase a new one.
