ROTARY CHUCK is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I should have bought one of these years ago This little gizmo is the neatest thing since sliced bread. I've been having trouble with the stock Dremel collet and that darned little wrench that never seems to be where I put it last. Being able to finger tighten without the wrench and to chuck up shafts smaller than 1/8" is great. I've chucked up 1/8", 1/16" and 1/32" shaft and it works great, it looks like it might go a tad smaller than 1/32", but I haven't tried it yet. I read a couple of the negative reviews about this thing seizing up, but I haven't seen that yet either. I believe a little WD-40 from time to time will probably prevent that. It only has 8 parts and 3 of them are little springs - what could go wrong?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from same problem as others I bought this a couple months ago and really needed it to speed up my work. It was ok for a very short time, then as I was drilling the grip would loosen up and the bit would fall out (if I was able to slow it down quickly enough and saw that it was loosening--otherwise it would fly out). Then I would try to adjust it and it would seize up. This slowed me down so much. Finally I'd get it off, but it was a huge effort getting a bit back in and tighten it. It was a vicious cycle, so I just gave up. If it had worked, it would have been great, so now I've given up on this "time-saving" device.:(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this chuck ive got one of these that i think is flawed,, in a good way,, it closes ALLLL the way so no bit is too small, i do a lot of carving and some of my bits are annoyingly different sizes so no hassle changing out the parts and even with 3 rotary tools with different bits in each i still find myself using the one with this chuck as my swap out tool,, i can easily and quickly change bits saving me tons of time and frustraition,, i will be buying two more for my other two machines,,, dont waste time just buy one of these and be glad you did,, well worth the money, also its toughhhhhh,, i have dropped mine a few times from the balcony onto the cement down at ground level,, 12 foot drop at the least... hasnt affected it at all.... if you find it sticking and simply unscrewing off your tool without opening spray some wd40 on it then tap the top with a screwdriver to click it back down then spray it down really good with wd40 to clean out the muck, mine has gotten excessively dirty from sooo much use and this brought it back to new condition,, tiny drop of oil once the wd40 is blown out and ur set

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Chuck Locks Up FIrst time to try it and I finger tightened it down to the bit and it worked OK. Then I removed the bit and finger turned the chuck to see how small it would go. That was it! Now the chuck jaws will NOT open. I unscrewed the chuck from the drive but I am unable to get the jaws to open. Something is very wrong with the design. I now have a useless expensive piece of iron. I did not use force on the chuck until I tried everything I could think of. Still bound up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great idea, wish it locked on a tool I am new to Dremel, the concept is fantastic, the keyless chuck makes it possible to save time, which is crucial.. After several hours of sawing and grinding 1/4" weldable steel rods (with the appropriate Dremel accessories) the chuck stopped holding the shaft tight. I'm afraid to use the metal saw. The grinders slip and slide as soon as I start grinding. The wool polishers slip and slide and are useless, too. I purchased a second keyless chuck today thinking I wore out the first one. The new chuck began the slip, slide and shoot (out of the Dremel) immediately. I need to use this tool daily. Anyone, please advise. I'm not looking forward to using the key again. Thanks!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Same issue as others.... About 10 months ago I had this same problem of not being able to remove this chuck. Today I was curious about trying again because the idea of how it works is great for me and I am glad I came to the source and read these reviews - all this time I assumed I had done something wrong! I replaced the tool at the time and will now not consider using this product again!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great idea, just one thing..... OK, I posted a review earlier on this. I was able to use my Monkey Wards tool to cut the chuck off of my Dremel 260. Here's what I found: The chuck was able to screw down far enough on the motor shaft, that it drove past the threads and seated on the larger shoulder of the motor shaft. I ended up grinding off a little of the chuck, and then grinding a long taper on my Dremel's shaft. This allowed me to use the chuck without a problem (Plus a little grease on the threads).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like other Users I had this in a 4000, used one time and cannot open. I have taken it out of the 4000 and driven the drill out from the back. I have placed it in 6' vice and using a wrench cannot get it open ... it is frozen shut!
