HOT GARBAGE
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this instead of another Irwin brand (I own an Irwin and love it) because figured I'd gamble on this new Craftsman. What a mistake. I never even got to use it because the second I tried to unscrew it open, the plastic screw stripped to bits! Why is the whole casing made out of metal but they finish it off with a plastic screw??? Recommend this product to a friend? HA, more like recommend this to an enemy!

Hot garbage
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is so cheaply made. Got it home went to open it and guess what? The plastic screw stripped. Pretty pathetic being a brand new item.

cheapest craftsman tool ive ever owned
The screw to open the knife and get the blades out was nearly impossible to get out. Soft metal that was extremely tight. Was tempeted to take it back. Had to loosely put the screw back in as it was pretty well stripped from trying to remove it straight out of the packaging. Had to be the cheapest feeling craftsman tool ive ever bought

Cheap
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I needed to cut drywall to fit in my vehicle & I forgot my knife. All of the brands I would have preferred were in 2 packs, so I got this one instead. The screw to get to the blades was cheap. The screw got really beaten up just by taking it out & back in once. I don't believe it will last long. It did allow me to get my drywall cut, but I don't care for it, it doesn't go together as smoothly as my usual brands and don't believe it will last long.

good for the price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Craftsman must have changed the design, because the one I just bought has a steel screw for holding the knife together. A little tough turning it the first time to put the blade in, but fine after that. The similar Kobalt knife (which I also bought) is a better product and more comfortable but I also needed one with a hole in the end for hanging it up. The Craftsman knife is an all metal tool and should last.

Don’t buy it...
It’s going back today. I was looking to buy a different utility knife but it was out of stock. Picked this one without reading the reviews and I regret it. It looks great but forget getting it open to set the blade.
