Stove Rope Gasket - 3/8" x 78" is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job fine I read some reviews that weren't competely happy with this product but I needed a new gasket for my stove door. I had purchased a 3/8" Rutland kit but that gasket was too thick and wouldn't allow the door to shut so I purchased the Imperial kit and this gasket fit the door perfect. You need to remove the door and lay it flat to apply the liquid adhesive otherwise it will run out of the channel. The Rutland kit also had liquid adhesive. After I let it sit flat an hour I installed the door and left it closed 2 hrs. My first fire was perfect no apparent leaks. I gave this 5 stars it did the job for me. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Product 5 star!! I purchased a Master Forge gas smoker from lowes and some smoke was leaking around the doors so i went back to low's and purchased the 3/8 fiberglass rope gasket kit to seal around the inside doors and it worked excellent!! Good idea if you have a smoker that leaks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great Just be sure to let your glue get tacky before putting rope into the groove, as the directions indicate. 10-15 minutes before putting rope into groove.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't even bother After reading many terrible reviews and realizing the glue was only designed to withstand the 600°F I returned this product and got some Rutland 2000° gasket cement as well as a Rutland black gasket(kit) for a dollar and a few cents more . I'm not about to compromise with a hot burning stove that's for sure. Do it once, do it right and know that your stove is not going to have a potentially less then secure seal. That's my two cents.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The rope gasket is fine the glue is too runny If the seal has to be glued to your wood burner instead of the door the glue is way too runny to put on if you can take your door off and lay it down horizontal it works fine. When I put my glue in the wood burner groove for the gasket the glue just ran off all over the front of the wood burner then the gasket would not stick I waited to 10 minutes like it said and all the glue was already hard and I did it when the wood burner was cold I recommend they find a glue that is more like a paste

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Gasket for wood-burning fireplace or stoves. The Imperial gasket is extremely easy to use, IF you do the prep work first. The old gasket needs to be removed, then use a wire brush to thoroughly clean the channel. Be sure to wear safety glasses and gloves. Once the channel is clean, use alcohol or automotive brake cleaner to clean all remaining residue, BEFORE attempting to install the new gasket. Apply a bead of the gasket cement around the channel, then press the gasket in place. I did not cut the gasket until I had placed it in the channel. Once in place, use a sharp pair of scissors or shears to cut the gasket to length. Do NOT try to use a utility knife, as this will stretch the gasket and leave unruly fibers at the cut edge. Close the doors and leave them closed overnight so the gasket sets properly. Works greats! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
