RECIPROCATING SAW BLADE is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for cutting Cast Iron Pipe We bought this blade to cut a 4" cast iron pipe to make a repair to our septic system. The job wasn't as dirty as we expected. We were unable to dis-assemble the pipe at a joint and had to cut the pipe upstream. The blade worked exactly as expected. We used a low speed and it took a few minutes to cut through the pipe. The cut was clean and the blade appeared to be in good shape after the cut. We had purchased 2 blades in case we wore through the first one since CI is very hard. No need for the second one and we returned it. We are glad to have the first blade still usable for the next project..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from THE blade to cut cast iron I was trying to cut through cast iron sewer pipe with a regular metal cutting blade and the progress was very slow. I went to Lowes and picked up one of these blades and made the cut in one tenth the time and effort! To the guy who says these don't cut cast iron all I can say is you need to put some pressure on the saw with your arms. The saw won't do all the work for you!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Rough Cut, Tight Space I tried to use this product on a 4" cast iron flange and it was virtually useless. It gets off to a great start, then peters out as the cutting edge slicks up. One blade did not cut even a third of the flange. Cast iron cuts better with heat, making an angle grinder with a steel cutting wheel the ideal tool for this application. Conversely, you would do well with this item for very small applications of maybe 1" - 2" or less. Use light pressure and have someone there with a spray bottle to keep the blade cool as it cuts. Even then, I would only buy this where a rough cut and a tight space requires it. Good luck!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A diamond for the rough stuff Great blade. Cut through two 4" cast iron pipes and another 2" cast iron pipe very well. After the three cuts, a lot of paint was off the blade but otherwise it was clearly ready for more. I'm not sure the diamond cutting surface was worn much if at all. Should last a long time I think. For all my cuts, I used firm, moderate pressure, medium speed and was patient. I squirted a little water on the blade as I was cutting. While I think you could run the saw on high and apply more pressure, you better keep the blade constantly wet to avoid burning it. So now let's set the record straight. I read a couple reviews that left me VERY hesitant to spend $15 for a great an otherwise great blade. I worried it might not do the job and perhaps it might be best to go rent the chain cutter for $18/day. Glad I didn't! But I was hesitant buying this diamond blade because a few years ago I tried to cut the same type of 4" cast iron pipe with a carbide grit blade and it failed miserably. Of course the package advertised it was for cutting cast iron, but it didn't cut the pipe and any progress was painfully slow. Such was not the case with this diamond blade. Bottom line is buy this blade and be confident it will do the job well (4" cast iron pipe took about 2 minutes to cut, little less for 2") and last . In fact, I just bought the t-shank version for my jig saw hoping it performs just as well making intricate tile cuts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for cast iron I used this blade for sawing through an old 4" cast iron pipe in two separate places and it did the job with no difficulties. My only problem was when I did not keep the rail pushed up against the pipe and the blade got bent a little bit. Luckily, I was still able to continue after some minor straightening with a pair of pliers. Another plus, was that I did not see any sparks, since I was sawing a sewer pipe.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cut concrete paver I had to cut a corner out of a large 16"x16" concrete paver that is about 2" thick. I bought this blade and was able to make two 3" cuts in about 5 minutes with a cordless recip saw--pretty quick work for the small project. I did dribble water over the stone as I cut it and had no problems what-so-ever. Exactly what I needed!
