  • QUESTIONS, PRODUCT
Ready-to-Use Weed and Grass Killer with Wand - 5 L is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 898.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good product, terrible dispenser. The weed killer itself is ok, the dispenser wand is total garbage. The first gallon I bought the sprayer wouldn't work. When I finally did get it to work (someone at the factory had put the batteries in wrong) it worked for about three seconds then stopped spraying. I ended up taking it back to the store for an exchange. The second one worked the first day then I went to use it again today and the sprayer will not work now. It just runs and runs but only spits out small amounts of foam. Cannot get it to work. Now I have to go out and buy a whole new sprayer to put the Roundup in order to use it. It's really wasting my time and money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Round up extended use 1.33 gal.size bought this produce because of the application- 1 hand sprayer-battery operated. It sprayed, a wimpy spray the 1st time, the 2nd time I used it, it was hopeless. I cannot use the sprayer- this ready to use product is 1st. very slow acting, 2nd the sprayer is junk I emailed Round Up, was told they would get back to me in 24-48 hours- 7 days later I still had hear nothing. So I called them, I was told that the product can cristilize in the nozzle so to place the nozzle in hot water for 10 minutes. They would send me a new nozzle but it will take up to 3 weeks to get here. Forget it, do not purchase Round Up.- very expensive, no quality, buy a hand/pump sprayer and another brand- this is the best option

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I can have a beautiful yard. (plus hints on pump sprayer) I have never used any weed control except my bare hands. This year I asked several people and they told me they use Roundup so I am trying it. And for the first time in my life, I am confident I am going to win the battle (with ease) and enjoy my yard!! THE ONLY thing I must say is the pump sprayer can be difficult and finicky, sometimes spraying a good blast and other times a trickle BUT>>> I have figured this out!! If you set the wand on the ground next to the jug while you re-pump for pressure, it will keep the hose primed. If you hold the wand in your hand, at, say waist level, while you are pumping, the spray and pressure will be frustrating and inconsistent. Just set the wand down when ever you pump and this product will make you smile. I love my yard now. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great concept that doesn't work Just used this for the first time. I've used Round Up in the past with great success, but you do need to be very careful that any breeze does not carry it to areas like the lawn (learned that the hard way!). So, the "cup" sounded pure genius. Worked great for about 5 minutes, then started dribbling instead of spraying then went to a mere bubble of thick foam before it totally stopped working. Too much time spent bent over trying to get spray going. Tried everything suggested, and it still wouldn't work correctly. Finally just gave up. Very expensive product for the minimal time it worked. Again, it's not the product but the spraying mechanism. I would not recommend the Round Up with the cup mechanism. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Killing invading sumac I bought Roundup Ready to use Weed & Grass killer III to kill sumac that is invading my lawn. I want to make sure it kills the roots. It works. The sumac is wilted and looks to be dying, but its tough. Some of it is putting out new leaves (in one day) so I will probably have to spray them again, but most of it looks like it is dying. The electric wand made it much easier. I like it. The sumac was wilting in less than 3 hours, and it rained 6 hours later, but that didn't help the sumac. I've used the cheaper competitors. They didn't work. This does and it was worth the price. Sometimes you do get what you pay for.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from New wand is useless I've used Roundup in many of its forms over the years and thought I would try the new 'Roundup Ready to Use Weed and Grass Killer III with Sure Shot Wand'. I read the directions for use, and I tried all the spray patterns but got no more than dribbles. I thought I just happened to get a lemon, but I had also bought a second jug and the wand did the same thing! Besides that the spray guard is tinted, so I couldn't tell where I was dribbling! Back to concentrate and my own sprayer.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't get it to spray? We love Roundup, it does the job! But first it has to come out of the bottle! I read the answers to the other reviewers and primed it, also held the bottle higher than the nozzle. Still only a little foam comes out. My husband thinks it is a problem with the hose since the sprayer attachment is buzzing. It was crimped in a spot that we can see but after moving it to be more open the foam was still all that we got. This dome idea is a great one. Now we just need it to work! I did get my fingers wet after trying to prime it for several minutes. Again we think that the problem is inside the controller and perhaps the pressure caused it to link a little bit. I did wash my hands right after.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product works for most vegetation with one application. Used this to spray an area so heavily infested with weeds such as Creeping Charlie, Clover & Crabgrass that my Kentucky & Merion Blue Grasses were severely outnumbered. I spray painted a perimeter around the area I wished to treat, sprayed the RoundUp within that area carefully when the wind was not blowing to avoid drift, and after 4 days, I felt it was safe to reseed the area. It is now mostly growing back pure grasses. This was much easier than trying to pull out the individual weeds and there was not regrowth of the those whose roots I was not able to fully extract through mechanical removal (by hand.) Rated 2 out of 5 by from Problems with refill I've used RoundUp for years and find it works well. However, last summer, when I purchased my new supply, I also purchased the small bottles to use as a refill. This year, when trying to use the refill bottles (I followed the instructions adding one small bottle to 1 gallon of water in my 1.33 gallon Roundup container) some sort of gunk formed in the bottom and clogged up the tubes leading to the hand sprayer, and the hand sprayer, itself. A slimy, almost worm-like substance. I've written to Bayer/Monstanto but no one has replied. Very disappointing!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I had to kill my whole yard with Roundup Roundup works really well. Before we had a sprinkler system our lawn became infested with quake grass. The only way we could get rid of it was to kill our entire yard---- grass and quake grass. Roundup was super effective. We still get some quake grass coming back, but it is mostly because of our neighbors yards. The only thing that I don't like about Roundup is that the new nozzles with the batteries are not reliable. I have had 2 containers where after a while it won't spray at all. Very frustrating. The product is reliable, but the nozzle isn't. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good product I have bought Roundup for several years now. The last 3 years it seems the product gets weaker and weaker. I have talked with several people about Roundup and they all said the same thing....it doesn't work any more. It use to be great but I wonder if you have weakened the strength of it. I spray and a week later the weeds are just barely starting to die. It takes weeks for it to kill anything...literally weeks. Every time I talk to someone about it they say the same thing. I will NOT buy this product again. I feel I am just wasting my money and my time spraying. I didn't have any problem with the sprayer as some did although it has a very weak spray. You have lost several customers by lessening the strength of this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EFFECTIVELY ELIMINATES MOST UNDERSIRABLE WEEDS AND GRASSES TEMPORARILY Appears to be a good quality product. Have tried competitors' products that have not been as effective as Roundup. Product eliminates most of the undesirable weeds and grasses temporarily. Can be used in my planters without damage to surrounding plants if applied carefully and really reduces the amount of physical labor required to remove weeds and undesirable grasses. Advance planning is desirable though, since although the product evidently starts working almost immediately, it can sometimes take a couple of weeks for the undesirable weeds and grasses to brown sufficiently to remove them from your landscape. Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worthless Wand Once again Roundup has come out with a failed product. The last three years I have tried new products each spring only to be let down. #fail once again as the Sure Shot should be renamed No Shot. I am now forced to look for alternatives to Roundup as I spend more time with returns due to failed wands and pumps that do not work. The contents work well when you can get them where they belong. I followed instructions to a tee, visited YouTube sites to see if I had missed something. Nope - just does not work even though I hear the motor trying to get the Roundup moving.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of My Favorites I love the sprayer wand on all Scott's products. What genius. Instead of the old style pump sprayer just open the wand and spray, wow! It makes bending over and backache a thing of the past. Of course the product works too. Just spray on the weeds or grass and in few days boom, brown and dead. Be careful this one kills grass too, not just weeds. I've kill some tougher, thicker plants by cutting into the offending plant and spraying this into the cut. Sometimes it takes a few applications for this process to work, but I've had success and the plant stayed dead. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Skip the One-Touch, upgrade to the Pump and Go bottle Like the other reviewers, I had problems with the one touch spray wand. The actual Round Up worked great and killed what I needed it to when it sprayed, but the sprayer wand failed after only a few uses. I brought it back and bought the Round Up bottle with the Pump N Go top. Smart move -- it works great! I used up the first Pump N Go pre-fill, and have since used Round-Up concentrate+water to refill the bottle over and over. Today, I used it for the 15th time, and it's working like a charm every time. No leaks, no sprayer failures. Spend a few extra dollars and upgrade to the Pump N Go bottle. As for the effectiveness of Round Up...like the label says, it takes a few days to effectively kill, but it does indeed kill. I've tried many others, and there is no substitute for Round Up.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wand does not work after second use. This is the second Roundup weed and grass killer purchased and both spay wands have failed after a couple of uses. I even replaced the batteries on the current one with fresh batteries and still no luck. This product is effective when the wand works properly. I would not recommend this product. FIX THE PROBLEM!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product made me happy!! Me and my husband move to a new house and I was afraid to go in the back yard because of all the weeds I saw. I used this product on some poison ivy, oak, and sumac I had growing on my fence. It didn't begin to work until 2 days later; although when it did begin to work, it did a fantastic job!! It not only killed the poisonous vines, but it got rid of the grass growing along the fence-line too, which took away the need for the weed trimmer!! I really appreciated the constant flow of product with the battery-powered hand wand,it was so easy to use!! :-) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wipes out unwanted weeds When we moved into our house, my wife and I couldn't believe the amount of unwanted weeds and herbs were in the garden. With all of the mint growing in our backyard, we can only assume that the previous owners loved to drink mojitos. Roundup took care of that! It killed the weeds quickly, and allowed us to pull up the remaining plants and roots. Now we have a beautiful garden! Since then, we have used it a few more times (mostly to kill weeds growing in the cracks of the driveway). It works so effectively, that we have no reason to switch brands. Rated 5 out of 5 by from big time saver Roundup does kill everything so you must be careful where you spray. For large areas that have a large amount of weeds it is so time saving and does the job. Once again for small areas you need to be very careful where you spray. Several years back I had a huge area of front lawn that was nothing but crabgrass. A lawn company came in and could not get it under control. I tried to pull them out one by one until I got so frustrated I took the Roundup and killed the whole area. After a few rains I replanted grass that is beautiful and crabgrass free. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Frustrating After carefully assembling the wand according to the instructions I found it did not work at all. Not even a spritz or a dribble. The batteries were in and the pump was running. The connections were perfect. Nozzle on, spout up and clicked in place. But absolutely no spray. I won't return the wand assembly to the company at my own expense so I'll see if the store will take it back. I guess I learned something about products that seem to good to be true.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tried this product on my new flower had good results Wanted to put two new flower beds in the backyard, first I mowed the grass spots, used weed eater, rake the grass up, I started to spray the Round Up on what was left of the grass, waited a day grass dead , put weed barrier, mulch and the flower beds are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product! I bought Roundup to clean up my weed bound fence. And it was easier than I expected. And thanks to the Roundup commercial, I feel manly when spraying weeds, LOL! :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This removes the misery out of work I run an Aprtment complex in South Texas where everything here is blistering hot and Bites including stickers. I use this on the weeds that slither into the cement cracks and grow, but after a dose of this Roudup "liquid Death", they turn brown and wither away. Even a rattle snakes venom is nothing compared to Round-up. This is what we use here in South Texas to get the job done right ! Spray handle does not always spray but you can place this in your own sprayer and it works fine. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product's feature of battery powered sprayer is a wonderful enhancement for using g this excellent product. I have used Roundup for nearly all of my grass/weed needs. I spent the little extra money to purchase this battery powered sprayer and have enjoyed the ease in use. I use the product to spray around islands and edgings in my yard. My yard is rather large and by using the roundup, I have reduced the need for edging and hand pulling of grass and weeds. The battery power has truly made this much easier. ANYONE that enjoys yard work should invest

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets rid of weeds fast. Controlled spraying can leave flowers in place, while eliminating envasive weeds Round Up is as necessary as your mower when it comes to maintaining your lawn. Spray round up, and on contact, leaves absorb, then Round Up acts to cut off the plants ability to feed itself and thrive; the plant simply starves to death rapidly. Spraying can be controlled around flowers eliminating envasive weeds, as well as those lovely weeds in your drive way seams. A great product to keep mulched areas clean and weed free. Pump, battery operated wand, and concentrate available for garden pump sprayers. Great garden product. Highly reccommend [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Spray not great. I bought this a month ago. Spray is bad. I tried priming unit and all settings. Oh, it comes out, but with weak force. Assume the extra long wand or some other part of design is bad. Chuckled at cup, which is to keep spray isolated to a certain area. No need to worry. Even with widest spray does not spray very far. I have seen many folks complain about spray system on this site. Needs redesign. Talk to company that makes Ortho home defenses insect killer with similar setup (wand and 3 spay settings). theirs comes out with good force when set to wide spray setting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Disappointed by duration of Roundup Although I haven't as yet used the stronger versions, I now feel the regular Roundup lacks the killing duration that it formerly did. I can apply one afternoon and see the results the next morning, but before the end of 7 days, I already see the weed or grass returning. I have been using this product for a number of years. Six years ago, once the weed or grass in a floower bed was sprayed, it was gone forever!! I have also tried the concentrate where I mix my own. It is more economical but does not seem to work any better. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best stuff EVER! Weeds didn't stand a chance. The conditions were perfect, I read the label followed it closely, sure enough. The Sure Shot killed the weeds, precisely w/o disturbing the blossoming blooms next to them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid this sprayer Roundup works great and the automatic sprayer is a great idea, but in practice it doesn't work very well. The sprayer sprays for a little while then just dribbles out. You can flush it out with water and it works again, but then soon just dribbles out. Then you're left with a container of Roundup and no way to dispense it. Avoid this type of sprayer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roundup is a fantastic product! Beware to weeds and grass where they don't belong. Roundup will eliminate them in an easy, efficient stream or foam The nozzle targets weeds and unwanted grass, making them history in short order. The jug is easy to carry with you when gardening, so as soon as weeds are spotted, you can quickly eliminate them. I especially like that I can pin-point a weed without killing a plant or flower that is growing next to the weed or even entwined with it. This is a great product that I have used, use currently, and will continue to use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
