Professional Grade Cable Staple Gun is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Yes and no I've bought 10 of these so far and 30000 staples for a larger project with at tight schedule looking for a time saver...120000 feet of nm cable and another 350000 feet of low voltage cable. They all work great then they're new, they last about two weeks and they stop working, jamming and breaking the plastic off the staples mostly. I would definitely recommend for a home owner or smaller jobs but the fact is they don't last with heavy use. I'd call it a fluke but the pile of them in my garbage can says otherwise. Due to lack of an alternative I'll keep buying them and keep using them but if I had another option I would be all over it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CableBoss Staple Gun I agree with AskThis Old Man. This gun worked perfectly for me. Loading was easy. Staples went completely into wood every time. Not sure why some of the other reviews said they did not. I would say that on my first try the staples did not go in but that was because there is a little device up by where the staples come out that has to be flipped around depending on which size staples you are using. That might have been the other reviewers problem. When I asked the store clerk if this was a good product all he said was we sell alot of the staples for them to contractors. The staple supply was low when I bought this gun and this gun was the last one on the rack. The only negative was the lack of instructions but was able to get them on their site.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for a home owner Great for a homeowner with a small project. This definitely saves time over hammering staples. I purchased the corresponding staples for 12/2 cable (item# 101736). The gun puts the staples n decently well. I hammered staples in a few times where it seemed a bit too loose. You have to make sure you're completely flush with your surface when stapling, otherwise the stapler jams. The spring loaded clip that pushes staples forward is made from plastic and does not seem durable, so I worry about how long it'll last before breaking. Overall, its a time saver for small project, but isn't heavy duty enough. Still worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well if you don't follow instructions I am a DIY home owner. Everytime I do a wiring project I told myself "get a staple gun next time ..." I knew of an Arrow cable gun but its staples are weak and the gun is corded (why?). When I came across this GB Cable Boss at Lowe's, I examined the staples carefully and decided to give it a try. I was fully satisfied after using it in my next project. First off, even though the stapler is plastic on the outside, some important parts are metal. For example, the trigger lever and hinge are metal. The staples, though expensive, are well made. It operates like any staplers, just be sure to push the handle all the way down in one motion or else risk wasting an expensive staple. There are 2 important tricks to get good results: 1) Choose the right staple for your wire size. The instruction says Blue staple is for small wire, White for medium and black for big ones. For example, 14/2, 14/3 and 12/2 are listed under White staple. But it turns out that 14/* came out a little lose with the White, so a Blue would have been better. Finally, the staple is probably not strong enough for big wires, so forget about the Black staple. 2) After looking through the instructions, you'll find that the gun has a "Front Cable Guide". The Guide has two ends, one marked Blue and the other marked Black/White. If you follow this, the White staple will not sit properly. Use the Blue side for the White staple instead.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money! Your wasting your time. The item worked great out of the box. Then after two strips of staples it starts to jam up. It jamed every other staple. I wasted more than I used. It was very agrivating to try and get the james staples out. Hopefully if you buy this item you woll have better luck than I did. But dont hold your breath. Especially for the price. So i am returning it. I did however pick up the dewalt electric stapler which was a little more expensive bit well worth the money. Side note. If you dont have a strong hand and or wrist tthis thing will be brutal on your hands and wrist especially if you are hanging wire and trying ro use his aweful item. Especially when it jams after every staple. Good luck and may the odds be in your favor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design I purchased this cable staple gun with hopes that it would save some time but it would not sink the staples into the wood that I was running cable against. I thought that I may not have the correct angle so I took a piece of 2x4 on my workbench and still couldn't get the staples to shoot into the wood. I returned it to Lowes! Lowes has always be great to work with.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Simply doesn't work Having quite a few wiring projects in the works, we decided to give this stapler a try. The success rate was less than 1 out of 10, as the staples simply didn't go in. Hammering them in the rest of the way quickly proved much more frustrating than simply doing it the old fashioned way. The downloaded instructions didn't work, and neither did the other suggestions in the reviews here. The quality of the staple gun is decent enough, and in theory the features sound nice, but what good is that if it can't fulfill its one purpose in life: to drive a staple into wood.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This Is a Complete Piece of Junk I purchased this staple gun on an impulse. I am an avid owner builder, have built three homes, currently working on a large two story workshop. On the surface this staple gun looks like a good idea. I bought it a year ago, along with two boxes of black staples. Since then I have run over 2,000 feet of 12/2 non-metalic wire, and have not successfully used up my first box of staples. The rate of successful staples is less than one in ten. Opening the slide and removing the strip, dry firing to eject stray pieces of staple will result in a successful staple less than half the time. It has proved to be a total waste of time and money. I had thrown it in the trash, but this morning pulled it out to take back to the store. After nearly a year, I don't expect a refund, but just want the opportunity to suggest that Lowes remove this product from their inventory.
