can this be set in a lawn? if so, how would it be secured?
It cannot just go in the lawn, you would have to make a platform to bolt it to. There are some great diy videos on youtube that show you how to make a small but sturdy platform to mount it to.

Is the base slightly bevelled so extra wiring can be concealed underneath? Is it designed to be bolted to the patio? Is the total base width 10 inches? (We have a pillar very close by and may not have 5 inches from centre. Thanks.
The base bevel is pure for aesthetics, but extra wiring could be concealed underneath if you wanted to. You can bolt it to a patio, and it would be fine. You just need to bolt it to something solid, so it doesn't blow over with a strong wind. The total width of the base is 10 inches.

We live on shore of Lake Erie. The wind/weather can produce winds exceeding 100+ Km/h. Will this item stand up to the high winds once securely mounted to a cement base? The answer is IMPORTANT we experience these condition every season. Thanks.

Great lamp
Very sturdy outdoor light. Has a nice effect at the corner of our deck. Easy to assemble and install.
