how do the leaves fit it? can they be added in even if one side is dropped down?
Fit in? The leaves are pre-assembled on to the unit itself and fold down when not in use, these are not removable. One leaf may be brought up and the other left down if needed.

Great Table
Bought this yesterday and am delighted with it. Solid wood and very sturdy when leaves are extended. Folds down to 10", perfect!

ISSUES - 3 TIMES
They say 3rd time is a charm.
I hope so as I have got item 2 other times.
1st time - Was not a circle, ends did not meet.
2nd time - When top was put on bottom, 1 side was way suppose to fit diagonal, 2 inside stood out like at 5 o'clock, hinges were not straight which made it not lay flat
