This Whirlpool(TM) professional 30" cooktop gives you space and versatility for the preparation of your daily meals. Continuous cast-iron grates are equipped with EZ-2-Lift hinges, which are specifically designed to lift grates without having to remove them, giving you quick access to spills. SpillGuard(TM) upswept edges prevent liquids from spilling out of the cooktop. For even more thorough cleaning, you can safely put the grates in the dishwasher. The SpeedHeat(TM) burner generates the high temperature needed for boiling water and stir-frying food, while the AccuSimmer (R) burner with power reduction function provides better control at low temperatures, which is ideal for simmering sauces. Burners are sealed to prevent food from falling inside, meaning that cleaning is child's play. For greater versatility, you can install this cooktop near a wall oven or separately. Backed by a 1-year limited warranty, parts and labour.

By far the best feature for me is the hinged grated. I love being about to raise one side for cleaning, and not have to actually remove the grate. I really like that there is a small element for really low, but wish there a big element for really big flames, which would especially useful when canning. That being said the middle element was fine for this task. I have not used the griddle yet, but I do like that it is just the right level of heavy. It will likely heat well and maintain the temp which is important when cooking on a griddle

Knobs are heavy and feels durable, although a bit too close to the burner and any pot you place on the cooktop. Middle burner knob is quite weird where it does not turn all the to low and is stuck preventing me to further turn it to low closest is 2 which is low enough, kind of. That is the only disappointing thing to me. Overall, burners are strong and also durable. Love the griddle! Excellent for pancakes, steaks and eggs! Great overall buy.

I would have never chosen this particular stove. Can’t cook with standard size pans because there is no room. The only one to cook with a large sauté pan in the middle. I was cooking in the center burner and lifted the lid towards the back to stir, and the lid caught on fire. It discolored a small portion of the black grate. In the many years of cooking on a gas stove, I have never had this happen. Using the center burner is very uncomfortable on the back, especially if the pan is tall. The other burners are useless due to no room..the pans lay over the knobs. The builder probably chose this stove because it was cheap.

I was easily able to install it myself, so I saved that cost making it a great upgrade!! The ONLY drawback - and it's just something to get used to - is the knobs. They are backwards from what I'm used to.

Overall it works well as we love cooking on a gas stove top. We like that the knobs are detachable and you can wash them easily. Just don't put in dishwasher as the part underneath can rust. The one downside is that it's hard to get a true simmer on this stove top. The rims can get oil burn pretty easily so keep one of those Scotch Brite heavy duty scrub pad handy. It's the only thing that can get rid of those burnt oil spots on the rims.

It's been my go-to brand for just about all of my appliances. However, this cooktop is definitely not up to par with the quality and performance I expected. It was installed by our builder less than a year ago. After a couple of times use, I noticed there were several spots of discoloration. I later realized that if you do not up wipe up spills or even just small drops of food or liquid right away, it will leave a a discoloration stain everywhere this happens. It looks just AWFUL! The other issue is only 1 burner in the middle of the cooktop is useable (maybe since it's much larger than the others). The grates are too far away from the burner. The rest of the burners take 25 to 30 minutes to boil even a small pot of water!! The technician that came out to look at it said there was nothing he could do about either issue. He suggested I get some stainless steel cleaner and try that. It didn't work! I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product. n

Rated 4 out of 5 by willyb from Love the look, hinged grates, and the griddle! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this cooktop in late December 2018; installed 3 weeks ago. After about a week, an issue with the igniters developed----all 5 igniters spark every time any one of the igniters is activated---not good. Made me wonder what else may be wrong! Notified Whirlpool regarding the issue and am now waiting for technician to check it out and, hopefully, resolve it successfully. So far, I am pleased with Whirlpool's interest in resolving this matter.
