Description

This professional cooktop by Whirlpool offers plenty of space and versatility to cook everyday dishes. The SpeedHeat burner generates high temperatures to quickly bring water to a boil. The AccuSimmer burner, with its power reduction function, provides improved control at low temperatures and is ideal for simmering sauces. All 5 burners are sealed to prevent any food from falling inside, making your cleaning routine much simpler. The cast iron grates cover the whole surface, so pots and pans can be slid around instead of being lifted when full and heavy. You can install this cooktop near a wall oven or on its own.

It works great with even flame on all the burners. The one drawback to this design is the stainless steel drip area under the grates scratches very, very easily. When we moved in we noticed it had large scratches that occurred during the installation/cleanup. The builder also warned us that it scratches very easily but agreed to replace it. Why design a finish that scratches easily for an area that requires regular cleaning after use? Good design must include not only aesthetics but functionality and ease of use.

I have been cooking on a ceramic smooth cooktop pretty much my whole life. Everyone thinks gas is so much faster, but I haven't felt that way yet. Even on the rapid boil middle burner, it still takes 15 minutes or so to boil a pot of water for pasta. I guess my ceramic cooktops had been far superior to other cheap electric stoves. I just expected it to cook things faster like I'd been hearing for years. I love the way it looks in my kitchen and it works great so no complaints.

We would not have opted for the grates of this model. The openings are too large for most small to medium size pans and pots. Our one quart pots do not sit securely on the grates. The pot teeters over the gap and leans in that direction. This also causes issues with the exterior and handles of the smaller pans and pots getting hot. We unfortunately were burned by this flaw. All of the grates are the same size even though the burners are of various sizes. We plan to reach out to whirlpool and seek full grates without openings so we can fully use our cooktop.

The first time my wife used this product the heat completely melted the knobs. We are extremely lucky she noticed it before she tried to turn the knob off with her hand. She could have been badly burned. The safety team acted like it was operator error! Unbelievable Do Not buy this product! It’s extremely dangerous

It makes using them all, if needed, easy and safe. My son and I were actually using the cooktop at the same time the other day and we had plenty of room to stand side by side and cook. Secondly, I like a sparkling clean cooktop and clean it after every use, and this one is super easy to clean. I just lift up the hinged grate and can easily reach every last splatter. It has a very professional look and I swear the burners are hotter than other gas burners I have had in the past! I very highly recommend this cooktop.

The hinges on the grates make it easy to lift up and clean any spills from cooking and they are all at the same level making it easy to move pots around without having to lift them. THAT SOLD ME!! The electric igniter can be heard over other noises in the kitchen when lighting a burner. Having 5 burners is a gift when cooking large meals or using large vessels for canning. Easy to use, Easy to clean and Made durable! I support AMERICAN products because they support AMERICANS!

Whirlpool was a compromise since we went over on other items. I felt that I got a steal on appliances. This cooktop was less than half than the cost of the Kitchenaid but it looks terrific in my new kitchen. It cleans up a lot better than my previous GE. My only complaint is that it takes awhile for a full pot of water to boil but I can deal with that for the amount of money it saved me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bala from Not happy with the whirlpool gas cook top grates We moved into a house with all new whirlpool appliances, I am not happy with the gas cook top, it takes much more time to heat up the pots and pans with food, because the cook top grates are closed at the burners and placed very high. The distance between burner flame and pot is much more than normal.
