Rated 5 out of 5 by DaddyCajun from Ease of Replacement installation I replaced a Kenmore unit that was about 13 years old the new parts on the whirlpool like the bypass valve we are far superior to what I had prior. All we had to do is put a cinder block square break about 2 1/2 inches thick underneath the unit so that the height of the unit matched for the piping we were connecting it to. The directions or easy to read and understand and it was very simple to connect we accidentally tore one of the O-rings and had a leak we’re not sure why but once we found the reason we used one of the older O-rings and solved the leak problem. We then plugged it in very simple to program added the salt, done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jim R from Great product at fair price I purchased the 48000 unit because I have a large house. Lowes delivered the unit and installed it one week ago. I replaced an expensive unit which never fully functioned and, when I tried to have it fixed, the company had no parts. I shopped the whole softner range of products and decided on this unit because of the control panel and automatic electronic features. Lowes installation was exceptional and removed the old unit. It has taken a few days but the results are very satisfying. I have great soft water and the price of the unit was well within my budget. A quality product and the warranty is exceptional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Frank from MUST BUY I had the 48000 Grain Water Softener installed four months ago by a Lowe's representative. The entire installation took about 20 minutes. This unit tells you how much water is being used, the amount of salt is being used, and when more salt is needed. Everything that you need to know is already displayed on the unit which is easy to read on a blue screen as you can see from the display. The only flaw for this unit is that it is mainly used for well water for the amount of iron. I am not using well water, but I do use the many different functions that are easy to use. I highly recommend this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Corey 101 from Excellent Water Softener Recently purchased this water softener after doing much research that thr water here in Edmonton is very hard and causing my son's skin to develop eczema. I was debating between the Fleck, Rainfresh or Whirpool. After much research, I decided to go with the Whirpool because of the 5 year warranty, great price online as Lowes had a sale and an additional $60 off when you buy online and lastly for the features it offers. It learns my water usage and is extremely efficient on using the salt pellets. Fairly easy to install, but just to play it safe I got a plumber to install it. I personally would reccomend this water softener.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Barnett from Love this Softner After having this softner installed we noticed immediate results as rust and calcium were seen as we flushed the toilets for the first time after it was all said and done. Wash and showers take much less soap now and things seem so much cleaner now. I would have no problem recommending this softner to anyone that has hard water or just wants to make there water a little softer. It works real well with the dishwasher and clothes washer that we have saved a ton of money on soap.

Was trying to figure out why I was getting white crud all around my faucets, on my shower doors, etc. Couldn't get it to come off at all. Discovered that we have hard water and I needed a water softener. Went into Lowe's, bought the biggest softener they had. Now that we've had it for 7 months I've managed to get the old white gunk off and it doesn't come back! In a house of 4 people we just replaced the salt after 7 months. Very happy. Would recommend this product, AND the Lowe's installer.

It works well and uses a lot less salt then the old one to clean the brine. What a great additional savings. Easy to install and worked out of the box properly. Going to be using the cleaner product to extend the warranty. That's not a bad deal too. It's a reasonable cost to buy the cleaner from Lowes only(manufactures rules), but for up to a 10 year warranty that's okay. If you choose to stop cleaning/treating or move, then there is no unused ins. money your out. Because the coverage stops when you stop using the cleaner/treatment.

I treat industrial water for a living and this one is great.I'mm going only use one bag of salt per month for seven people. Tracks water use and regenerates based on need not on time. Easy to install and very easy to program. Have already recommended this to personal friends of mine.
