Excellent!!!
Excellent Product!!! Bought a store brand charcoal to use in my smoker and had a horrible time lighting it so I was going to get some lighter fluid, but hate the taste of it. Found these at Lowe's and decided to try them after looking at the reviews. Have to say I am completely satisfied with this product. So easy to use. Just had to put them in the smoker, put some charcoal on top and lit them and YAY!!! The charcoal fired up amazingly quick!! Definitely going to buy these again and again and again!!! Thank you Weber, and Lowe's, for carrying this product!!!! :D

Great for smoking
Don't bother using these with a chimney. Just stuff the chimney with newsprint or brown paper bags and light with a match. Paper honestly works great as it burns hot and fast evenly across the bottom of the chimney and the lit coals do the rest. These are perfect for smoking, where you want to light a small amount of coals in the corner of a charcoal basket or banked coal arrangement. Put one on the bottom and strategically stack some coals around and on top without squishing it and it'll light those coals nice and slow so you can dial in those low temps for smoking.

Was great and now average
I have been buying these cubes for over 5 years using them on the 18.5" smoker and 18.5" kettle. My son uses them on his 14" kettle. the last three boxes I have purchased from HD looked like they were in good shape but when I opened the one up the cubes did not come out solid. I got them out in pieces and crumbs. I cook at least 2 time a week on the grills and now I have to put a little piece tin foil down so I can use the cubes and they don't fall through the grate in the grill. Please go back to the way they were made before the past year. I almost want to revert to another product.

The ONLY way to Bar-B-Que!
I cannot imagine NOT having these cubes because I've been using them for the past 5 years. They are clean, quick and within 15 to 20 minutes (depending on the amount of briquettes) you have a sizable flame without the use of any fuel to ruin the taste of the meat. They last quite a while, I only use 3 at a time with a chimney starter. A chimney starter and these cubes make your Bar-B-Que completely hassle-free. I LOVE THEM!

Works great
I do a lot of smoking on the pit and this has become my pits best friend. You drop about 3 of these in the bottom of a chimney and dump some charcoal on top and light it with a lighter. Let it sit for about 10 minutes and you got yourself a good fire going. It's idiot proof. Only drawback I have found is that nobody stocks it but Lowes as far as I can find, if that is really a drawback.

Where have these things been?
I've been using the Weber chimney for many years, but always with newspaper and often wondered if there was a better way to get my charcoal started. Lo and behold I noticed on a YouTube video someone using these little cubes, they appeared to be made of wax or some substance, but they lighted immediately and there wasn't any muss or fuss about how they started the charcoal. I hadn't been able to find the product locally, so when I was purchasing some other items to 'upgrade' my Weber 18", I went for these and have been supremely glad I did. They start immediately and burn as long as is needed to get my charcoal going. There's very little left when it's done, so no messy cleanup either. Wonderful invention!

Much easier than Newspaper BUT with a caveat!
Wife a package home from Lowes. I was intrigued as we do not receive a paper. First time I used, they were SOFT and VERY pliable; very hard to handle and make work, found 2 work, 3's better. NOW, if you place them in the freezer, they are firm and simple to remove from package. Being a Pyro, I still use 3 but that's just me. Will continue to use now that I have overcome the handing drawbacks.

instant fire
one piece starts a grill using a lighter can usually fired by newspaper and many tries. works awesome with one try. This stuff would be great for camping fires. Works when wet too like wetfire packs. I'm impressed. Each piece burns for 10 or more minutes with a big flame.
