Description
This Voila black earth soil is as attractive as it is practical. The dark, black colour is uniform in appearance and creates a more aesthetically pleasing look to your garden when used as a top layer. The organic soil is not treated with unwanted chemicals, so your flowers, shrubs, and vegetables grow more naturally. Black earth typically contains a high amount of nutrients, and it helps flower beds keep those nutrients as well as moisture. It can help enrich sandy and dry soils. There is 25 L of soil per bag, which is enough to provide adequate coverage for about 1 square metre of land.

CONTAINS GLASS SHARDS!!!!!
I bought 20 bags of this last year based on its price. It is full of broken glass, hard plastic shards and various other dangerous garbage pieces ans scraps! The Sherwood Park store manger (Brad) would not believe me, saying that there is no way that this stuff could have got into his dirt. I mentioned to him that it cut a couple of my fingers and I was still offered no compensation. My 3 and 5 year old daughters have not been able to garden with us going on the second year now because we are still finding chunks of broken glass shards! DO NOT BUY THIS DIRT EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's dangerous and I hope no one else gets hurts from it!

85 Bags! Nothing but Problems
I purchased 85 bags of this stuff and it took 5 car loads back and forth. I put it down in areas with no grass and seeded using Scotts seeds. The earth was full of ground roots, tree parts and not black earth. The seeds germinated but because the earth was like powdered wood, the roots did not hold and even just walking on it fluffs the surface up. In my front yard the seeds did not take either and after the heat the crab grass took over. I put in hours of work, hundreds of dollars of this earth, seed and Scott's fertilizer to be right back at the beginning. I am very disappointed :(

Cockroaches
Bought some to put on gardens around my porch. A few days later saw two cockroaches. One on the dirt one on the porch. Five days later saw one in the bathroom. Seen three more since. Never seen one before in my life. Have lived at this location for 17 years never seen one. In the middle of the country so it’s not from my neighbors. Also this stuff was full of plastic.

Soil not potting mix
I have used this soil in conjunction with other amendments for my veggie garden. This is as indicated on the bag.... SOIL... not ready potting mix or garden bed mix. For the price on sale its the best thing going to fill up beds if you do it correctly. Add some compose, blood meal, Bone Meal and garden lime and you are off to the races...

Good filler, but nothing grows on it
I put bags of this soil in various places in my garden last year. Nothing grows in this soil. All the places remain bare. So use this as filler only.
