Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfectly fine roof vent I am a roofing contractor with 16 years experience. This vent can work perfectly fine if installed correctly. People commenting it’s leaking warm air and moisture obviously had these installed incorrectly. Someone even said they ran it out of the soffit. Yikes. That’s horrible, I take out soffit vents to install these all the time, no leaks. Soffit vents are the worst. The soffit is supposed to intake cool dry air to the attic in winter and the soffit exhaust for a bathroom fan or dryer shoving large amounts of heat and humidity to be SUCKED BACK INTO THE ATTIC is the worst thing ever, I have seen it personally cause many issues including ice damming and mould formation. Seal the duct properly (the inside flexible duct taped to the vent, not the insulated jacket taped to the vent like I’ve seen so many amateurs do) and it won’t leak air. Maybe even a wormgear clamp if you know what your doing :) And as one person said yes, spray foam the inside of the vent head to avoid condensation forming. Seal it to the shingles with proper overlap, and some quality sealant at the joints as required by manufacturer. But these work fine if installed well, many many people just don’t install them well. I’ve seen improper installs cause giant icicles in the attic, leaks, and mould. But that can be said about anything installed incorrectly. Attic vents, bathroom exhausts, shingles, flashings, etc any part of a roof installed wrong causes issues period. Have someone skilled do it, or just read what I wrote. It will work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from LEAKS if used in snowy climates ! I supplied this last fall to contractors replacing my shingles. It leaked inside my attic and cause damage to my ceiling as the water found a nail holes in several places. I have never had an ice dam before and got one 5 inches thick this winter. The design of it is part of the issue. When up on the roof every second snowfall to shovel around it. I will be replacing this vent once the weather warms up. What a waste of money and damage :(

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pas adapté à l'hiver J'ai acheté ce produit pour poser pour 2 ventilateurs de salle de bain à mon bloc. Dès le premier hiver la neige a obstruer la sortie. Ensuite de la condensation dans le tuyau a du se faire et au printemps l'eau coulait dans les salles de bain. J'ai tout enlevé cet été et poser des sorties dans le soffite.
