I applied Varathane 3X Cabernet stain onto pine dresser, somehow the result hardly match the "cabernet" shows on the can or the display at the store? The display does show results on Pine or Oak, look good therein. Not red enough, not even close?????

Varathane Ultimate Wood Stains are semi-transparent, and the wood species they are applied to will impact the overall look of the stain. Stain may look very different on pine, than they would on oak, or maple.
