Great sink, but use the template
At first glance it looked Iike I could just drop the sink into the cutout of the old oval sink, but after a closer look I realized it would have sat 1/8" above the countertop so I used the template & enlarged the hole. Nevertheless It would have been ok without doing that - just would have needed more silicone & had a thicker caulking bead around perimeter. I had lots of cabinet space underneath but if you decide to enlarge cutout be careful not to cut past side panel of base cabinet - could weaken cabinet and likely not necessary for tight fit - looking at mine an inch or 2 smaller cutout than template size would have still resulted in sink edge resting tightly on counter.
