Description

Ultracolor Plus with DropEffect technology is an ultra premium, fast-setting, polymer-modified, color consistent, nonshrinking, efflorescence-free grout for joint widths from 1/8 in. to 1 in. (3 mm to 2.5 cm). DropEffect technology reduces surface absorption to help repel water, dirt and grime from penetrating grout joints. Ultracolor Plus is specially formulated with Mapei's high-hydrated cement technology (HCT) to eliminate the common problems related to Portland cement grout, such as color consistency and efflorescence.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Troy from Great grout [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] New tile designs occasionally require different spacing between the tiles. Used to be I'd acquire sanded grout for my 1/4"+ gaps and non-sanded grout for my smaller/narrower gaps (grout lines). I was somewhat skeptical about this products ability to do both. I was pleasantly surprised, it filled the large and small spaces equally well. Sanded grout does not perform well in gaps 3/16" or smaller and non-sanded grout for gaps of 1/4" or larger, 1st you'd use a lot of grout, 2nd it would not be level as it dries it would shrink in. This product tackles that issue and has a sealer in it to boot, really pleased with this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Glenn from Hard for big jobs Very fast dry time which is a problem for a big job. Material sets up within 30 min which causes a lot of small mixes to be made to avoid it solidifying. Small jobs with fast coverage and small cracks should be okay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kels from By far one of my favorite products This is a great product for a few different reasons First of all it replaces the use of having to use sanded grout on a bigger joint which is great because unsanded grout has more gritty looking finished texture which is less appealing in my opinion second it doesn’t need to be sealed which saves time but any grout can stain if you aren’t cleaning it right away if something was spilled on it little vinegar and water can help It’s extremely durable next to say like a epoxy but much easier to apply obviously it’s fast setting so anyone who doesn’t do this work as a day job then mix in smaller square feet then come back to where you first applied tool your joint (circle motion) the longer you wait the harder to do this part and to have a full joint Lastly but not least No effervescence which makes the finish product look amazing no worries of white haze on your joints there’s a chemical reaction versus traditional regular grout drying slower thanks for reading ~tile queen~

Like so many other reviews, I did about 4 sq. feet and then the whole pail was a solid mass. You had either work like The Flash or mix like 1 lb. increments or you will regret your purchase. Definitely not for the average DIY home owner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Scott from Great Product [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used the silver color for my bathroom. works great in inconsistent spacing. had several spots around shower niches that were miscut by the contractor and this filled great. Many have said this product dries fast. Working time is only about 45 minutes. We were told to use super cold water. leave it in the fridge for a day or two before mixing with the powder. Had someone leave it too long in the shower and it is a pain to get off when it sets up. You have to work in small sections with this. I did the bathroom floor (about 60 sq ft) in two batches to make sure it didn't set up before I was able spread it. Great product, great color. Follow those tips and you should be good to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MikeInOH from Good stuff Product worked great in our bathroom remodel project...Color was consistent throughout. One thing to be aware of is that it sets up very quickly, so it's important to not mix up more than you reasonably apply within 30 minutes or so. Similarly, don't cover an area larger than you can completely wipe down within 15 minutes otherwise it will become more challenging to clean up your grout lines. Would buy this product again.
