Description

Ultracolor Plus with DropEffect technology is an ultra premium, fast-setting, polymer-modified, color consistent, nonshrinking, efflorescence-free grout for joint widths from 1/8 in. to 1 in. (3 mm to 2.5 cm). DropEffect technology reduces surface absorption to help repel water, dirt and grime from penetrating grout joints. Ultracolor Plus is specially formulated with Mapei's high-hydrated cement technology (HCT) to eliminate the common problems related to Portland cement grout, such as color consistency and efflorescence.

For grouting interior/exterior, residential/commercial floors and wall surfaces in dry or wet conditions

For application in submerged conditions (swimming pools, spas, water features and fountains) cured in approximately 3 to 4 days

It dries very hard and, from a previous use) has kept its color well. One word of CAUTION...It dries very fast and very hard. You better be ready to start sponging the grout within 15 minutes, or sooner...in 30 minutes it will have dried and will not longer be workable with a sponge. Unless you have help, I would not recommend mixing more than 1/4 to 1/3 of a bag at a time, then sponge it before mixing more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Happy grouter from Easy to mix and use Overall all happy with its performance — the color on bag is not the true color so if you want a darker color of grout keep it in mind. The color is more white than the light tanish on the bag but it still looks good

Rated 5 out of 5 by Louise from All in one but work fast [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Per my tile guy, this is what tilers are moving toward ... he said this stuff is much better than putting an additive with sanded/unsanded products. Looks good on backsplash and shower ... and I like that I don’t have to seal it. Best that it works on all sizes of grout lines. Color is good too. Does dry fast, so take heed of instructions and work from small batches.

It was beautiful when first applied, however, it dried WHITE and RUINED the entire look that we were going for in our shower. (Not to mention the matching caulk came out of the tube WHITE instead of the BISCUIT color). I am unsatisfied and extremely upset that this product dried WHITE!

There's only one thing to consoder: Instructions recommend to wipe off the excess grout from the work area after 30 minutes of application. I wouldn't recommend to wait this long. It cost me too much extra work to clean the dried grout.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sjack from Strong and consistent grout Switched to this stuff after using regular grout for years. First off it’s great to be able to use the same unsanded grout for varying spacing without worrying about cracking. Also the stuff sets up quickly so you don’t have to wait around for it before initial cleanup and shaping your lines. Lots of people seem to complain about it but my guess is they’re new to grout or they aren’t reading the instructions completely. Don’t mix up the whole bag unless you have a helper or two! Do batches using a 3:1 -> 4:1 ratio and be consistent in measurements and mixing. Also read the notice about working in hot conditions because it really speeds it up. After working with this stuff I don’t think I can go back to a regular grout. The joints are rock solid, sealed, and ready for light traffic in 3 hours.
