Hello I am wondering if this product will work on a shower floor. I am doing the floor and walls of my shower in stages so I do not want a premixed product. I a m considering epoxy grout but this might work better for my needs.
We have this in our master bath shower for 6 years now with 0 issues.

Some issues
This does not act quite like traditional grout and is much more tedious to manage. Its fast setting for sure so dont get ahead of yourself. I found the need to work it with a damp sponge far more than should be necessary. Make sure you're happy with the area before moving on because once it sets you're done. I will say that it seems to be as tough as nails and probably more water resistant than traditional grouts. The biggest concern for me is that the color ( gray) seems to dry with a milky haze that wont come off. I'm hoping to get the color back by applying a grout sealer but that kind of defeats the purpose of buying this in the first place ! I'll probably wont buy again.

Sets Up in Minutes
I'm not going to spend a lot of time writing this review, because it matches everyone else's in the fact that this sets up way too fast!! I managed to use it for about 10 mins. before it set up like concrete. And Mapei will just reply with their normal response and nothing will become of it, other than hopefully I can prevent someone else from making the same mistake I did. I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing this inferior product. Mapei just needs to admit this is a very bad product!!

Easy to use, Consistent color
We are DIY'ers and had no issues with installation, everything went well, color was consistent even between bags. Followed mixing instructions on bag, but used distilled water instead of tap water (eliminates chlorine, fluoride chemicals) which can turn darker grouts an inconsistent color. Also used distilled water when wiping off grout with sponge. Instead of grouting the whole project and then cleaning up, we worked grout into lines for approximately 50 sq ft, stopped, and then cleaned up that 50 sq. ft, then moved onto to the next 50 sq ft. putting grout into those lines. Rapid setting can be overcome by watching the clock and remixing your grout every 15 to 20 minutes with a very small amount of additional water. The grout will eventually harden in your bucket, but this seems to delay the hardening process without compromising the grout.

Solid product
This was my first grouting project. I was a bit nervous to use based on some other reviews. Regrouted my very uneven bathroom shower - I'm talking wavy walls people! Wall used to have some give. With new grout wall is solid! Be sure to add more water than recommended so it doesn't dry up (check YouTube for consistency recommendations) and be sure to work in a small area and clean tile quickly after you apply otherwise really adheres to tile and you need to scrape off - you do not want to have do that, trust me! Overall worked great! I especially like that you don't need to seal the grout.

Do not use
Not a pro but have done several tile jobs. Do not use this. Grouted a subway tile shower. By the time I was done grouting it had set up in the bucket hard as a rock. Followed directions for 15-30minutes before sponging off tile. It was to late. Grout lines looked horrible. Spent 8 hrs with a scrubber and utility knife clean inning grout lines. Horrible product at least for diy'er.

May I leave Zero Stars?
I have laid over 2,000 square feet of ceramic tile in the last five years. Not a pro, but not a first-timer either. This is, without a doubt, the worst product that I have ever used associated with tile. When they say fast-acting, they aren't kidding. I started by following the directions to a T. Things are going great, until I got half-way through the mix and it set up in the bottom of the bucket. Well, I have charcoal grout down and have to finish. On to Bag #2. Mix up again to preserve more time but try to gauge partial mix. Too thin. Wait five minutes. Set up in the bottom of the next bucket. By now, I have half a bag on the ground and a full bag in the garbage can. NEVER AGAIN!

Charcoal dries light gray. AWFUL!!
Charcoal dried many shades lighter than the swatch shows (see photos- one when wet which is what it should be and one when dried light gray). Totally ruined the look of my bathroom floor. Only options are to tear it out or to put Enrich n Seal on it to darken it.

NEVER AGAIN
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought VERY expensive tiles for our kitchen backsplash....NOT a large kitchen. We got 1/4 of the way done and it was already turning to concrete so we had to add more water, which got us to 1/2 the way done, then had to toss the rest. Now we are left with half our kitchen ungrouted. Will have to buy more just so it will match, but will try in VERY small batches and have my husband follow right behind me to wipe off as I go. Unfortunately, the second half we did looks like a five-year-old did it (and I have tiled multiple times before). Awful product.
