Can this tile be used around a fireplace and does it need to be sealed from smoke and soot?
Yes it can be used around the fireplace. Sealer should help in cleaning up the soot that might end up on the tile.

I purchased this tile for a shower/tub wall (3 sides) installation. Would you recommend sealing it to avoid staining from shampoos, etc.? Also, what do you think about a darker grout instead of almond colour?
Does this need to be sealed and if so what product would one use?

Kitchen Backsplash
I was looking for a tile that would blend into the natural stone counter. I did not want a ‘loud’ backsplash that would take over the simple look of the kitchen. These tiles were just what I was looking for and a fraction of the price compared to other mosaic tiles out there. They were incredibly easy to work with as other mosaics containing metal, glass and natural stone can sometimes be challenging to work with. I used a grout to blend with the stone (light almond) however you can see in the ungrouted picture that even a darker (or lighter grout) would be just as nice. There are colour variations however it is natural stone after all and therefore expected. Once it is all put together, it all blends in and comes together nicely. I’m very happy with the product.

Nice tiles but.....
I had these tiles installed by Lowes a few months ago as a backsplash in my kitchen. It looks very nice BUT, the tiles randomly have different thickness on a sheet. So you will have some part of the tile lower or higher than others around it. It will not be noticeable from a distance without lighting but with lighting on, you can easily see the random height difference of the tiles.

Looks great!
This tile has been used as a kitchen backsplash and it looks great. It is natural looking but still modern. I like the variety of shades in the tiles and I found it very easy to work with. I used my dremel tool to make some small adjustments and my tiling job looks like a professional did it. To cut the tile, I bought a Dremel SawMax which works quite well.

Great tile for the price $7 on sale
We purchased this tile for the shower at our cottage. Very difficult to match existing floor tiles and cedar wood (not originally picked by us). Tiles matched perfectly. Our contractor had no complaints, very little waste and the imperfections which are normal for this tile blend well with grout. Great tile for the price.

Looks good, lots of chips though
Put it in for a kitchen backsplash. It does look good. Many, many chipped corners though but once it was grouted couldn't see it. Would advise same colour of grout. No regrets.

Good, not perfect
Beautiful stone, but check the alignment of the tiles before putting down; they are not always consistently spaced.
