Description
This Craftsman(R) tool chest offers all the storage you need for your small and bigger tools. Made of durable steel with red and black coating, it features four drawers with smooth-closing ball bearing slides. The top part of the chest has a rubber mat and allows you to store your power tools or bigger accessories, and its cover is equipped with a closing system operated by premium quality gas struts. You even have six electric outlets and two USB ports, making this top part a battery-charging area for your tools. With its width of 26", its height of 24.5", and its depth of 16", this tool-chest is the perfect addition for your garage or workshop. Backed by a 10-year limited warranty.

Not your grandfather's Craftsman
I will start with the basic description that this is absolute junk. The hinges are riveted and the top door rubs on the rivets holding the side together. If this was actually made in the USA, they should be ashamed to be out-performed by other countries. There apparently is not a quality control with the company making this product. I would think it is made by another company slapping "Craftsman" logo on it. Right out of the box, I noticed scratches and obvious "global materials" since it is dinged right out of the box. If this door was closed prior to boxing, they should have noticed the door rubbing on the rivets. Yes it is a tool box but if the paint job is not able to hold up in the box, it will need repainting in 6 months. This is not the typical Craftsman product. Save your money and buy another brand. I am returning the chest and bottom that I purchased to go along with it.

Nice looking, but..
Nice looking box, but a few pieces of metal have jagged razor like edges, that would cut the skin badly (mainly noticable on the metal retainer plate that the power cord goes through, on the back of the box.) And, to my dismay, one of the pull out drawers sticks badly and makes a crack sound when opened and closed. Its some kind of issue with one of the drawer buffers/closer things, and requires high effort to open. I don't know how to rectify it at a glance..
I'm not overly happy, but at the same time I don't feel like driving all the way back to return it.
I feel that the price was a little bit high, and the quality isn't there, on my example, at least.

Great box for the money
I chose this box because it is made in America. Craftsman has changed the red color slightly from the older boxes I already own. The new red really pops. The electrical outlets provide an easy way to keep my power tool batteries charged and ready to use. I especially like the fact they provided USP ports to keep my phone charged. This box has the 100 pound drawer rating. I have filled it up with tools with now issues. The soft close drawer feature is very welcome. Not an expensive professional box, but works great in my garage.

Great top chest for my rolling base cabinet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had saved gift cards from Christmas and Birthdays over a couple of years to purchase this top chest along with the 2000 Series base cabinet. I like having the way the top opens allowing me to store some taller items within a quick reach. I added some space organizers to the drawers and have my tools organized and readily available. Before I would have to look in multiple locations in my garage to find a tool.

Christmas
(I bought the "set" top and the bottom chests) A Christmas present for my dad, I had it delivered. The delivery guys were awesome, calling me ahead of time and polite to my father and me! The only thing I was disappointed was that it came already assembled. Nothing was damaged, but I was hoping it would still be in the boxes and waiting until actual Christmas day (my dad lives for the excitement of assembling products, especially if its' something he always wanted). We were also missing the keys to it. I don't have patience for automatic voice menus, so I went on chat on the Craftsman website and they referred me the company that specializes with their keys. They mailed me a new pair for both top and bottom with no charge! A little hassle, but other than that, my dad loves it!

Not just a toolbox for mechanics!
I am an artist and work in many different 3-dimensional mediums, all requiring a lot of space due to materials and tools needed, depending on what medium I’m working with. Before purchasing this, everything was scattered in several smaller toolboxes. This occupied a lot of space, and often made it difficult to find specific items when I needed them. Now everything is well organized and takes up much less room in my condo. It makes working a lot easier and I’m a much more productive artist.

No liner
This top tool chest seemed sturdy. I just want to know why the store display of this item has 4 liners for the shelves aside from the top mat and mine does not have one except for the top mat.
