Over priced - Cheap Construction
I purchased this chest with the lower unit which has its own issues. But this top chest came out of the box with a crocked top door and structs that were rubbing on the inside of the cabinet. Overall very poor quality for the price. Spend a little more money and get a nice tool chest that isn't cutting corners. I have an old Craftsman tool chest that was made before Stanley Black&Decker bought Craftsman. This isn't a Craftsman product. It's a cheap Black&Deck product and all you're paying for is the name.

This is not anywhere near the quality of your older Craftsman box.
They should ship these with a hammer and a hacksaw. You will spend considerable time bending and shaping this thing so it's CLOSE to what it should be.
Be prepared for a disappointing unboxing. I highly recommend that you do this at the store. It took three tries to find a new in the box that wasn't bent on the corners and the bottom.
Waterloo used to make some great toolboxes under the Craftsman name. It no longer seems to be the case.
It seems that the new generation of this box is using plastic to hide the poor fit on the corners. I guess they consider that an improvement. I guess they underestimate a mechanic's sense of value of their tools and equipment.

41" Craftsman Tool Chest
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] WOW!!! This thing is really neat. First class. 5" dia. X 2" wide heavy duty casters. These babies won't break down under the weight. Ten drawers in the base cabinet. A 12" deep drawer for big tools. Three 5 1/2" deep drawers. All the drawers are soft close riding on enclosed ball bearing rails.
The separate six drawer top chest is also soft close on enclosed ball bearing rails. The top "lid" opens via two gas operated pistons. Very smooth. The chest also has a six place power strip with two USB ports on the right side of the chest with an on-off toggle switch.

Be sure to inspect before you load onto your truck
Product is ok, but a little disappointed in the condition that Lowe’s sold it to me in. It was clearly a model that had been on the floor and had two corners dented. All still worked and functioned as it should, but blemished nonetheless. And with the option being to reload it up onto my truck and take it back, I opted to accept that it was merely a cosmetic flaw only.

Brought it back to the store
The casters on the bottom are installed with sheet metal screws, not machined screws with some kind of bolt. That will not support the listed weight over a lifetime of use. Also, appears to be painted, not powder coated. The paint job had many blemishes and was easily scratched. Interesting is that the store floor model had machine screws for the caster. I suspect there is some cost focused re-engineering going on here.

Holds eveything I need it to hold!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife bough this for me to store my hand tools. I love that it keeps my tools in neat organized way. I know where they are and love having them next to my hand built work bench. The side handle is helpful in more ways than just a handle. I also like that it has an add on option on the side for future expansion. I added the no slip liner in each drawer and use p-touch labels on each drawer marking the type of tools I have placed in each drawer. I find it very helpful and makes projects go by quicker. I might be adding an upper tool box in the near future.

Good Box
Bought this to go on top of old Craftsman Waterloo box I've had since the 90's. Width wise it fits great. Isn't as deep as the old boxes. The color is way off. Can spot a mile away when stacked. Over all I like the box. Drawers slide nice and smooth. Not alot of side play in them at all. Doesn't come with drawer mats. Does come with Mat for charging area. 4/5 stars because of the major difference in color and smaller depth then bottom box.

Best Tool box per dollar spent
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a licensed aircraft mechanic and I know tool boxes. Trust me when I say you would have to spend a lot more to get one this nice. Easy to put together and glides smoothly on the wheels. Holds a bunch of tools and has outlets and USB ports so you can charge or run most anything. The drawers operate very smoothly and all but self-close, just start them and they will finish the job. This is such a good tool box that my neighbor came over to check it out and is now headed to Lowe’s to get one for himself. If you still have any thoughts head up to Lowe’s and discover for yourself that this is the best tool box for the money you will find. Hope this helps.
