Two questions: How big of an area does one coat of this product cover? What is the finish ie, is it matte, semi gloss or high gloss?
i used less than 2 containers to cover a deck of 11 by 27 ft
- the finish is matte - however the light colored deck I had dried one shade darker

Hello, I need to waterproof 3 1/2 inch thick 4 feet by 1.5 feet MDF boards. They will be installed inside under a big stone. Can I use this product? I am worried because you specifically say it cannot be used indoors. Thank you

Does Thompson's WaterSealer Clear Waterproofer have a light colour to it

Can this be sprayed onto my backyard fence and what sprayer would be good
I tried I was not successful. When you spray it you still have to brush it in.
Definately cannot do with any of those garden sprays I tried flowMaster, HD something it did not work at all. It clogs the sprayer and anything that comes is so spoty

I purchased a Yardistry Pavilion several months. In checking with Yardistry, they recommend Thompson's water based sealant. After reviewing your reviews, I don't see very many happy customers. Is this the right product for this product?

A gallon or 3,78L to be exact approximate coverage rate is 3.7m2 -9m2 so you can go from there to calculate the 9,45L

This product is a water based sealer and will work for sealing the bird bath. It must given drying time as per label before being put back into use.

Has the formula changed?
I had some 5 or maybe 10 year old Thompson water seal. I put it on with my old Thomspon sprayer and it worked great. However, I swear the sealer was clear. Purchase a new can of sealer and it was milky and was very difficult to spary on my fence. The application was very blotchy. It look terrible but as it dried the apperance improved. Still have some sticky areas and wasted a lot of sealer because of how it sprayed.. I still recommend Thompson's water sealer because I have used it over 30 years with no problem. Makes me wonder if its my sprayer or if its the product. I may have to do the fence again to ensure proper coverage with a new sprayer and product.

Very Effective on Older Concrete Pavers
I was looking for a product to bring some life and colour back to an older patio made of concrete pavers. I had tried other products with limited success. Thompson's Multi-Surface did the trick. It is cheap and very effective. It improved the colour while sealing it. To prepare all I did was used a pressure washer. I tried to roll it on with limited success so quickly discovered that spraying it with a pump sprayer worked best. I did find it useful to use a paint roller to even out the spray. Two coats were necessary. There are also good videos on Youtube to show you how to apply.the product. I have also found that the product may go a little milky if rained upon early after the application but this will disappear

Not as happy as usual
I’ve used Thompson’s deck sealer many times. On my fences and decks. They’ve always absorbed really well, and lasted a few years before starting to sort of fade away. Last year I did my deck, and we had a very mild winter. It was brand new wood a year old I left it almost 2 years before treating it. I cleaned it well let it dry thoroughly and then use the sealer. Now, it looks terrible. And I have to redo it Please advise me on how to redo it. Thank you. Very strange because the upper deck seems to be only a couple of spots. I’m just very disappointed. This has never happened before.Not as happy as usual

Finally waterproofed
Due to many years of illness, sealing of our deck never got done. Just found someone to complete the process after a good pressure cleaning. This poor abused 10 year old deck is now looking like it was just built and sealed. Am so happy with how Thompson's performed.

Very disappointed
We power washed and cleaned our deck and it looked brand new. We waited a day to be sure it was dry and applied this clear seal and I am so disappointed. This was 3 days of work and it looks horrible!! I have used this product for 30 years and have always loved the way it brightened and refreshed our deck. How do we fix this?

Thompson Needs to Develop a New Formula
My experience is the same as the other recent reviews, i.e. leaves the concrete sticky and blotchy. Used two gallons with a garden sprayer as recommended on the can. When I ran out and had to go purchase another gallon, the nearest store didn’t carry Thompson’s. Purchased Olympic and it worked perfectly. That is the only part of my concrete that looks good. So, it appears that it is possible to develop a formula that works, even with the VOC restrictions. This is not an acceptable product.

I applied this product according to the instructions. my surface was acid stained concrete which is 7 years old. I applied the sealer with a roller and the temperature was approximately 85 degrees. After over 48 hours the sealer was tacky, so much so that you could not walk on the surface. Pressure washing twice with a detergent had a minimum effect. Only after two more cleanings with a degreaser was I able to walk on the surface with still some tacky spots which needed attention. I have used other water based concrete sealers before which have all had very fast drying times and did not remain tacky even after several applications within the same day. Always used Thompson's products in the past and I thought I would revisit the product line. I am sorry I did.
