Ecological Attributes
Stair-treads help reduce the use of de-icing abrasives that can be harmful to ecosystems. This product contains a minimum of 97% post-consumer recycled rubber, which significantly reduces the use of virgin plastic. The use of recycled materials allows for waste reclamation while limiting landfilling.

Type of adhesive to glue down to wood step??
No adhesive used. The treads just don’t seem to move much. Had thought about screwing them down, but haven’t bothered.

Contrary to 1st reply, instructions say slots facing down. I did install them facing up and feel it's a better result.

Water accumulates
When it rains, the water just beads on them, so this results in little puddles. When stepping on them with running shoes on, I find them a bit more slippery when wet.
Living in a place where it can get cold quick, like it did the other day, you can see from the photos that the treads have some ice on them, while the exposed steps do not. Safer to walk on the part with no tread. I suppose that I can shake each tread to get the ice off, but seems like that would be counter productive to getting them.
I have not yes seen how they will be with snow, but my first impression is not positive.

Slippery porch steps, less slippery!
We bought 4 of these for our concrete steps leading to our backyard after our geriatric Great Dane slipped in the snow and fell. It was horrible! These rubber steps have been a godsend. I did have to trim one, which was a pain, but worth it. When they are covered with snow, I just scrape them with the shovel and they haven't iced over yet. Water does collect on them a bit. I feel much safer having these on the steps for both our dogs and kids!

Very slippery
Bought one of these treads for each stair (which was a lot of them) less then a month ago. Had our first rainfall with the new treads and water pooled on them. Then over night we got below freezing temperatures and they became a sheet of ice. Thinking they were safe I confidently took my first step and almost fell down the stairs. I tried different things like shake off the water to turn the textured side up. Nothing worked. Highly not recommend or safe. We can’t return them because we cut each one to fit the stairs.

Very happy with this product
Needed another option rather than the sticky backed grip tape step treads. This product was perfect. Nailed them down to some wooden steps on a rental house. They seem to work great and if ice builds up on them you can kick off the ice with your feet. Installed in minutes and looks real neat and clean so far. Price was a bit more but you are getting a lot for your money. Good solid product!

Recycled Rubber Stair Tread Provides a Great Grip
I purchased the recycled rubber stair treads to place on my outdoor steps as they can get quite icy in the winter. I fastened the stair treads down to the wooden steps using 1 inch brass deck screws so the treads wouldn't shift. Since installing the treads, we've received some snow which has melted and made everything very icy except our new stair treads. The snow and ice melts off them fast and they provide a very good grip while I'm going down our steps. I was always afraid of slipping before but not anymore. I would highly recommend the rubber stair treads to everyone!

These mats are a good value and very sturdy. Used a couple dabs of Lexel to hold them down in the corners. Very happy with the results. Not really clear which side is intended to be the top surface, but installed with ridge side up to provide a channel for water to stay off the surface and keep bugs from living underneath in the ridges. I ish they made longer pieces for my front steps.

Great item
We purchased these for our cement steps leading into the house from our garage. These steps are slippery in the winter when your shoes or boots are wet. This is easier then painting the steps with non slip paint. They were easy to install and look terrific.

Best purchase !
We bought 3 of these last year for our front steps and were so pleased with them that we bought more for our back steps this year. It was very easy to sweep the snow off of them with a broom. We put them with the ribbed side up for better traction. Highly recommended !
