at what height should I put the shower bar from the bottom of tub
I installed mine 48” from bottom in a shower, I would think it should be lower in a tub as you would likely want to reach it from a sitting position in the tub

16" is not on centre; if you look at the flanges where the screw go. you will notice the screw holes are too wide to catch a stud on all 3 holes. Best you'll get is one hole top & bottom. Ditto whether you place the bar vertically or horizontally A waste of money.

Good quality
Well made, solid construction. Comes with little chrome plastic buttons to cover the screw heads. Got it to replace a chrome-plated steel one beside the bathtub, that had started to rust. Mounting holes were in the same place, so it was easy to install.

Just what we needed for safety in the shower
While the Victoria ,BC, store did not have the grab bar ,the salesperson quickly located it on the Internet . Loewe's shipped it promptly and we had it installed yesterday to our complete satisfaction.

Very Flexible
The 48" length allows vertical installation on one stud or horizontal on or half way between on two studs. Three screws on each end make for a very strong connection.
