Description
The Sun-Mar® Excel is a high capacity, electric, self-contained composting toilet. It is ideally suited for residential or heavy cottage use. Like all Sun-Mar® toilets, the Excel incorporates a patented Bio-drum™ which can be easily rotated and ensures a fast, odourless decomposition. The electrical features on the Excel are a thermostatically controlled heater in the base of the unit to assist with evaporating liquids, and a fan in the top rear which maintains a partial vacuum in the unit. It does this by drawing air over the evaporating chamber and up the vent stack. The Excel saves thousands of gallons of water while recycling waste into a safe useable soil. Like all Sun-Mar® self-contained units, the Excel is easy and quick to install. This makes it ideal for houses, cottages, cabins, pool houses, barns, greenhouses; in fact, anywhere you need a toilet. Its seasonal capacity is 6 adults or families of 8. Its residential use is 3 adults or families of 5.

will this unit com with cent pipe
If you mean “exhaust” pipe, the answer is yes. However, I had to go out and buy an extra piece to accommodate the height I needed.

if we use this on a daily basses for a family of two how often do you have to clean out the tray? after each use do you push a lever or switch to activate the burning element? is the burning element on a timer/ how long do it take to burn up the waste ?
You will empty out compost about 3-4 times per year. The heating element is there to help evaporate away any excess liquid. It is controlled by a thermostat and therefore only clicks on when needed.

does it require hydro to operate?
Do we need to remove and dispose the waste from the unit?
I installed the vent pipe higher than required over the peak of my camp and I still get a smell of urine and ammonia outside the camp. ... any suggestions?

This toilet is HUGE would not fit in my bathroom
I ordered online and had this toilet shipped to my home. It arrived in a massive box with terrible packing -the box was opened at the top and no packing material to protect the contents. After unpacking I quickly realized how cheaply constructed it was. The plastic step stool is flimsy and I had immediate concerns about my 80 yr old mother stepping up onto it. I did not install the toilet. After reading very poor reviews online from many customers who had installed it and were having mechanical issues after only a year I packed it back up and hauled it back to the store. Make sure you have a truck to return it if you order online. The box would not fit into the back of my full size Durango!
