Description
The metal cage is designed to keep larger birds like grackles out, while smaller songbirds can easily fit through its cage openings to freely feed on the ports or the seed tray, safe from predators. Its plastic tube has a 1.6 lb seed capacity and its 4 ergonomic perches are comfortable for chickadees, nuthatches, finches, and more. No birds will go inside because it is too confining
I have had this feeder up for a week and no birds have entered the cage because the holes are too small and space inside is too small. I have an older orb cage feeder built similarly with the center post and screw to keep the squirrels out but the holes are larger and more room inside to move around and the birds love it. They have been hanging side by side since the day it arrived and I have to fill the older round orb cage feeder twice a day. This one has been filled once and no food has been eaten at all. See attached picture and hire a different engineer.

Hard time filling
I ordered this feeder earlier this week and just got it today. You literally have to take the whole feeder apart to fill it. I had to hold the feeder together while trying to get seed into it then getting the center rod back in place when it’s full of food is almost impossible. I bought it to keep squirrels out of my sunflower seed. I saw this feeder at a local store and it shows on the front packaging that cardinals are able to access it. But this site doesn’t indicate that a cardinal will fit in this cage. I was looking for an inexpensive feeder for cardinals and grosbeak that squirrels will not be able to access. I guess I’ll keep looking. Would not buy this feeder again.

Hard time filling it
Like design Just finished filling it- took the ball cap on top off so the inner rod stayed in place and then had heck of of time getting it back together again. So far a blackbird has just looked at it- no other birds yet.
