D'après le manuel d'utilisateur du thermostat en question trouvé sur internet, oui il est compatible avec des aeroconvecteur comme le spider jusqu'à 4000W de charge.

I'm looking to buy... what the difference between Stelpro Spider 4000 W VS Stelpro 5000W White Dragon Ceiling Fan Heater, Model DRI0521W. It's for gargae about 400 sqf. is 4000W enough ?

The difference between the two is that, the DRI0521W (5000W) is more powerful than the spider (4000W).To answer your question if you can install the spider in your 400 sqf garage, i would say yes if your garage has a standard 8 ft height ceiling, more than 8 ft you can go with the 5000W dragon.
