This galvanized post cap is an effective option for outdoor performance. Trust the double shear nailing design for greater strength with fewer nails. This steel post cap is 6 in T x 6 in W.
- Install with 16d common nails
- ZMAX galvanization offers extra corrosion resistance for exterior and treated-wood applications
- Provides a positive connection for a post to a wood deck
- Stronger than angled nailing or screw fastening
- Reduces the chance of the post splitting and eliminates nailing into end grain
- Not recommended for non top-supported installations (such as fences or unbraced carports)

Hello, You can use one of the following options: 16d(0.162")x3 1/2" common wire nails with hot-dip galvanized finish or SD10212 (#10x2 1/2") connector screws. Regards, Genady

Hello Burke, We do not offer BCS style cap for 8x8 timber. You can consider one of the following caps instead: BC8, PC8Z, or EPC8Z. Note that BC8 is not offered in ZMAX finish for exterior applications. Regards
