Hi these connectors are not for rough cut lumber. Do you have these for rough cut? you are selling 6x6 rough cut posts and I bought them from you last year. My intention was to use the post base with the lumber you have. But I can not find the connectors.
Hi Lud23, this is Colin from Simpson Strong-Tie. The model # for a rough 6x6 post in that same series of post bases would be ABA66RZ. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the Simpson Strong-Tie Customer Service team at 800-999-5099. Thank you.

secure 6x6 posts
Best item to use when remodeling a deck to insure posts stay secure and strong. Lowers chances for end rot of posts.

6" x 6" Post Baseplate
Very easy to install, except I did not like the anchor hole pattern being in a straight line, so I drilled my own offset hole pattern, which gives it better stability.

Base fastener design needs work
These bases are great in concept but execution was not to standard. After installing the base with a 5/8" x 7" concrete anchor bolt I put tapcon screws in the two smaller holes for stability. The concrete I am working on has slight imperfections which cause the base to wobble back and forth. I have to remove all of the posts again to drill more anchor points for tapcon screws. I would also like to see a wider opening to reach the fastening nut to secure it more if needed.

Great Base
6x6 cedar posts fit perfectly in this bracket. Only thing I'm disappointed in is it doesn't give any recommendations on the anchor rod you need to set in the concrete and then hexnut bolt this base to. I figured it out and the pergola looks great and is sturdy. It also doesn't mention the size of the pill opening, so I had to wait until I picked up the base to measure it myself so I got the right size anchor rod. But very happy with how it all turned out.

These work great
The Simpson strong tie retrofit bases always get the job done right. Coupled with the appropriate fasteners, they make a strong base for any post or column.

Will probably not use next time.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I liked that I could shift the posts some after installation and that these kept the post out of the ground. However a 6x6 is pretty heavy. This is hardly enough to hold a large 6x6 vertical during installion. You will need bracing. The posts still have a lot of sway in them without the roof being installed on my 8x12 porch.

Treated timber don't fit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the ease of anchoring this base to the concrete. I do not like that treated 6x6's are too large to fit into the base without flaring out the vertical sides where the nails holes are located.
