Rated 5 out of 5 by Cliffjumper from Firm/Stiff Bristle I use these brushes as a first choice for trim to hold & keep a straight, clean edge. As well, when painting rough-milled or concrete surfaces, the firm/stiff bristles make a near impossible job, not easy, but doable in good fashion. On that type of job, I always must daub/stab-in the paint/stain due to the heavy texture. Unlike other brushes, these bristles stand up to what is abusive use. Yet it still paints a good surface finish on smooth work. I wouldn't use it for a fine furniture oil varnish finish, but acrylic varnishes are fine. I'm currently painting the third rough-plank house this year, and will need to replace the brush I started with at the beginning of the year. This one is batten-board, where everything is trim-work. Outstanding durability.
