No it does not. The pump will continue running when all water has been pumped.

I'm wondering who is in control of writing descriptions and thought that 22 GPH (Gallons per HOUR) was something to be proud of? FYI, it is 22 GPM...MINUTE or 1320 GPH...HOUR according to the manufacture's website.
one year and still no correction for this spec on the website. Good work Lowes Canada. Typical poor Canadian customer service and marketing.

Perfect little pump
Purchased the pump to clear some standing backyard water. Works very smoothly and quietly. Suction screen is underneath so needs to be on a flat surface free of debris (concrete sidewalks or floors). Good flow for smaller volumes.

Nice Little Pump
I bought this about a month ago to get rid of some water around the garage door. This little pump did a good job and it is very quiet.
