Very good results
I have used this product several times, over 2+ years I have mostly used it on MDF which we used to construct a bathroom module with shelving and similar piece in two bedrooms and a seat box in the entrance. I have also used on finished bamboo and maple tv tables and a door frame. The results have been perfect. I did apply a primer on all the surfaces first and two coats of the furniture and cabinets paint with less than 24 hours between coats. The finish is very resistant to scratches. I have a dog who has scratched at the entrance box. You can barely see the scratches. There has been no cracking or peeling.bone of the reviews recounted their experience with old kitchen cabinets. I have had the experience of painting wood cabinets many years ago with another product with mediocre results. I learnt later that over the years wood cabinets accumulate grease and oils from kitchen use and hands. That may be the reason from the other reviewer's disappointment.

Terrible product - do not buy!
Last year, after much soul searching I decided to paint my 30 year old oak cabinets to modernize my kitchen. I knew I wanted white top cabinets and dark bottom ones, but needed to determine the best products to use. I researched both products and methods for weeks to ensure that I would have high quality results. I followed every important step. I cleaned my cupboards with T.S.P., thoroughly sanded them and painted them with BIN Primer Sealer. I applied two coats of Sico Furniture and Cabinet Paint (which claims to have excellent resistance to bumps) allowing several days between coats. This process took me many, many hours to complete. I spent more than three weeks working on them to ensure every step was done properly. I also let the doors cure for 29 days before putting them back on. When my cabinets were finished they looked fabulous!
However, within a few days I noticed a few scratches and a couple of chips. Within a month the paint began to separate and leave cracks where the recessed panels are in the doors. As time went on great deal of chips and nicks appeared around the handles and spots that get touched, and there were many places where the paint pulled away at the recessed panels and left what looked like cracks in the paint.
I bought all of the recommended materials, followed directions to the letter, and took the advice from your website and online videos. I should also point out that my husband and I are retired and there are no children or dogs in our home.
Needless to say, I am beyond disappointed. I put so much time and work into this job and now I am in the process of doing it all over again (not using Sico products, obviously). Sico reimbursed me the cost of the paint but this is minor in comparison to the hours of my time and labour that I poured into this project.
Sico Furniture and Cabinet Paint is a an extremely poor quality product. Avoid this paint so that you don’t experience the disappointment, expense and countless hours of extra work that I now face.

My kitchen cabinets look factory finished
I used this product a year ago to refinish my kitchen cabinets. They had been done by previois owner with white over oak with not great results. I used light grey on top and medium on bottom using an adhesion primer and then sico paint. I believe the key is to first clean with mineral spirits, the old fashioned smelly kind, not the new low VOC, as advised by a furniture refinished I know. I did the doors outside to minimize odour. I find the surface very durable and scrub proof.

Don’t buy this product!!!
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I have over 50 years painting experience and this is probably the worst paint product I’ve ever encountered. Absolutely terrible flow and adherence!!! Sales agent recommended 8 hours dry time between coats, 24 hours later it’s still tacky to the touch!!! Tried soft cloth roller, sponge roller, natural bristled brush, synthetic bristled brush and nothing offers any difference to the application. Coverage is streaked and blotchy!!!
DON’T Waste your time and money!!!!!

Disappointed !!
I applied this product to my oak cabinets in Dec 2019. I took all the necessary preparation steps to ensure my cabinets would come out perfect. I took a whole week to complete my cupboards and they did turn out beautiful. After 3 months all around the handles Have started to wear and chip off. I did touch ups but it still would only last a very short time. It’s now Sept and it’s now have worn off completely. We will be selling our home and I will now have to redo these cupboards again. I see now there was another review with the same issue. Wish I would have seen it sooner. There are only two adults that live in this house. I can’t imagine if a family was using these cupboards continuously. Tried to upload pictures but it wouldn’t allow me.. very frustrating!!

Light gloss furniture paint
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) I received a small pail of this SICO Furniture and Cabinets paint in exchange for a trial and review. I liked that this paint was easy to take to the chaise/long chair that I painted. The chaise was natural wood. I was able to do a beautiful job with two layers of this paint. The paint has what I consider a light glossiness to it which is great for furniture (tables, chairs, dressers). I wished it was a bit more thick in its texture, though. At times, the paint felt very "thin" and where the natural wood would show through, hence the two layers required.
