Can I use this primer on laminate?
Hello, no, it will not work on Laminate, the primer is intended to seal new drywall, masonry, fresh plaster and wood (except cedar and redwood) and adheres perfectly to alkyd or latex surfaces.

This primer takes 4 coats for complete coverage. Buy the yellow sico can if you want a 1 coat primer. its twice as pricey.

Very disappointed. Poor quality primer
Coverage over very pale light green walls, almost white, was almost non-existent. Might as well have been painting with water. Finished two coats and can still see the under paint showing through. Will likely need two more coats. Even when thoroughly mixed, paint is quite runny with continuous drips. Quite disappointed that Rona would sell this product. Based on the reviews here, it appears many feel the same. Overpriced poor quality. Rona, you can do better. Personally I’d like my money back.

Worst primer ever
Poor coverage and took a long time to dry. It barely hid the light grey paint that was on the walls. I will never use this again!

Très bon pouvoir de recouvrement
Couvre une bonne surface, odeur pas trop forte et masque plus que les autres que j’ai déjà utilisés.

Does not hide dark colours well
I have done lots of DIY painting in my house and never really paid attention to the type of primer I used and was not partial to a particular brand.
I did some painting over the holidays going from a darkish green to an off-white. I had part cans of Rona Eco Primer and Valspar High-Hiding Primer and full can of Sico GoPrime Duo Primer-Sealer. I used the Rona, then Valspar then Sico. It wasn't until I finished the primer coat that I realized how different primers can be. Valspar by far was the best for hiding the dark colour. There was still some bleed through, but not bad. Both the Rona and Sico looked terrible by comparison with Sico being slightly worse with lots of bleed through. I ended up adding a second coat of Sico primer over the Rona and Sico first coats which was better, but still not quite as good as the 1 coat of Valspar. Interestingly, I found the Sico primer to be the most thick and the Valspar to be least thick.
As an aside, I used Sico Evolution for the top coat in 1 room and Dulux Lifemaster in another room. I had to use 3 coats of Sico to not have any bleed through and only 2 coats for Dulux, so yet another Sico product not good at hiding darker colours.
If you are looking for a primer to hide a dark colour, I would not recommend this unless you plan on multiple coats.

3 coats needed to cover old blue walls
I am surprised how bad this primer is. My walls needed 3 coats to cover the old blue walls. I then needed 2 coats of the actual Sico paints. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
