Rated 2 out of 5 by JimS from Storage Shed Anchor kit I purchased this online when the local store was out of anchor kits. I had previously bought a kit from the local Lowes store and thought I was ordering the same brand. This kit is not even close to the quality of the other brand which is by Tie Down Engineering. This kit came with 4 anchors but the round part that screws into the ground is only 2 1/2 inches across. The one from Tie Down is 4 inches across. This kit came with 4 pieces of steel cable about 8 inches long each. Not enough to do anything with. The Tie Down brand came with a large roll of larger diameter steel cable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought two sets of these anchors for securing a storage [10' x 8', ~500 Lbs.] shed to the ground in windy Omaha, NE (spring winds can be gusty and strong). When they arrived, they were well constructed, and will certainly suit my application, giving me great peace of mind. Worth every cent!!

The rods were easy to screw into the ground adjacent to the runners on the shed and I attached the steel cables to the runners with lag bolts. Seems to be very sturdy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by freemonda from Easy Installation I had no issues putting these into the ground. To test the anchoring locations for rocks/roots and aid in installation, I first hammered a piece of 5/8" steel rebar which created a pilot hole. After removing the rebar, I used a crowbar for leverage to turn the anchors into some pretty hard soil. I could see how it might be a problem for some people, but I managed it and broke a decent sweat in the process! I didn't have any issues with the quality of the welds, either. I would recommend this product, but if the ground is hard you have to have some ingenuity and also be willing to work for it. Soak the ground with water well in advance of installation if you have to. I should have done that because it took me about an hour to install all four. I'm not deducting a star for the missing cable and cable clamp (only received 3 out of 4 of each) because the performance of the product was as expected. The packaging was heavily damaged and taped on one end, so it's likely it either fell out or was "borrowed" to complete another anchoring kit. I spent a few more bucks to get what I needed elsewhere rather than return the entire package for a single clamp and 12" of cable. I needed my shed inspected worse than I needed to wait a few more weeks to get what I needed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by stickittome from 30" Auger Anchor They had to ship me the anchors because the store did not stock this item. I only received two of the wire clamps and wires. The anchors are great and one of them is now holding one of our apple trees in the vertical position that was down because of a wind storm.
