Installation is a little tricky. Please read!
PLEASE READ BEFORE INSTALLING!! It is essential that you remove the plastic black cap on the end of the drive rod that will push a hook into the ground. If it stays on the rod, it will likely become stuck in the hook and you won’t be able to remove the rod from the ground. I learned this the hard way.
Also, to pull on the cable and “set” the hook, use the cable clamp to make a loop. The instructions suggest that there’s already a loop on the cable, but that’s not the case.
If you hit a rock while driving the hook into the ground, it is possible to pull it back out, as long as you keep the drive rod inserted in the hook while you pull the cable.
Once installed and set, this is a great anchor product.

Great anchors, but bad instructions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These anchors worked great in my soil (many rocks). BUT - you have to cut off the plastic end-pieces on the bar they give you before pounding in the anchors. If you don't, you won't be able to pull the bar back out. Fortunately for me, I had ordered two sets of four anchors, so I had a second bar to use.

Easy hook anchors
The anchors worked great, my area in Wisconsin has clay and rock, of the four anchors two went full depth without an issue, it had rained the night before so the ground was soft. The third anchor went in about 3/4 of the cable before hitting a fairly solid stone and the driving rod bent to about a 15 degree angle so I could go no deeper. I bent the drive rod straight for the fourth anchor and hit another rock, the 1/2" round drive rod bent into an S shape, I got about 1/3rd the cable depth. My suggestion is a hardened 5/8" drive rod shanked down to 1/2" to fit the anchors. Great idea though, I would buy them again.

Difficult hook
As typical with shelterlogic products having clear instruction isn’t a focus . It took me about 2 minutes putting the anchor in the ground that wasn’t bad but it is impossible to remove the rod after 60 minutes trying different approach the rod is still stocked in the anchor . The problem I believe is they put 2 useless plastic cap on the driving rod and I think now that I should have removed it because that is what prevent the rod to be removed . I am clueless of what I can do besides digging up the anchor .

Driving rod is a problem
The driving rod got stuck in the first anchor. I was able to pull the anchor out of the ground and remove the rod from the anchor. I purchased a two foot piece of 1/2" rebar which worked perfectly. The original driving rod is too thick I believe. Once all anchors were in the ground, they worked great.
