I like the fact that there is no motor to turn the deadbolt... thus a very low load on the battery... also I like the way it works even if the battery is dead... you can use the external battery... I bought two for my house... and later I liked it so much ..I bought one for my son's house!!!

Do not buy!!
I bought this product in 2019. It was installed on a new door, under a deep porch roof. Schlage has replaced it 3 times since then for various reasons. It has quit working properly again, this time for a completely new reason than I've had before. The electronics have failed and now Schlage is saying the warranty is expired. The lock that has quit was new this year, but the original purchase was over 3 years ago. The warranty policy is fair, but the product is not worth buying. Having my kids locked out of the house randomly, having to change the deadbolt 3 times in 3 years, and dealing with warranty is all very frustrating!! Also this lock with no keyed backup is a poor design, but previously to this terrible experience I trusted Schlage so I figured the lock would be great. It has been terrible.

Solid, functional, good install instructions
Replaced old unit in about fifteen minutes. Save the instructions for programming.
