Horrible - please avoid
If you don't ever need to remove it, or worry about being on the other side of the door, then this product might be for you. For the rest of us... 1. Even when it is in the unlocked position it can still prevent the door from being opened on the other side. The device prevents the opposing handle (at least ours) from fully turning to disengaged the door latch. Be sure you're not on the other side of it when you're home alone. 2. After working for about 45 mins to remove it I'm taking a break to write this review. I'm maybe half done getting the adhesive residue off the door. I'm using goof off and serious elbow grease and it is proving daunting. So just plan on never removing it. Or don't put it on a nice door. Other than that it works.

Great product
We have a lever handle to our basement and our 2.5 year old figured out how to lock it-- NOT cool when you're downstairs and he beats you upstairs. We tried this product and while it doesn't help with the locking part, he has left it alone now because of the lock. We showed him that only Mommy and Daddy lock it and it seems to be working. It was easy to install and it's been useful. It took awhile to get used to the thought that red = open and green = locked, but we are used to it now!

I installed it on my bedroom door, following the directions to the t, including the super cleaning. After it was all said and done I left the door alone for nearly 36 hours. The product worked great, for about three weeks, then it started coming off. After a month my 18 month old pulled down on the know and the whole thing popped off. We're in a rent house and I was really excited, and loved it while it worked, it's just a shame about the adhesive.
