New wool rugs will shed, but this shedding will gradually diminish & can be reduced by using a high quality rug pad, vacuuming a new wool rug 1-2 times a week for the first few weeks using a low pressure vacuum cleaner without beater bars, and vacuuming in the direction of the pile. Excessive shedding will diminish within 4-6 months, or less.

I wasn't home when it got delivered, but he was, and he made sure to call me to tell me how nice it is.:) Cool texture, wasn't wrinkled or smell too bad out of the packaging. Was ready to go delivered. Don't even really need a rug pad underneath. (Furniture is pretty heavy... but for high traffic areas without, you'd want a rug pad.) Good all around! ;)
