can this be used on a plastic slide for outdoors?

Great question! We believe the slide will be exposed to too much wear & tear for the Painter's Touch Ultra Cover 2X to hold up long term. If you still want to give it a try, make sure you clean the surface very well and lightly scuff sand with 220 grit sandpaper. Frequent reapplication would be required for maintenance.
As well, just keep in mind, some plastics made of polyethylene are manufactured in a way that may hinder maximum paint adhesion. It is best to test on a small area first.
