I need a small saw tool for around my house and I wondered if it would work for cutting a straight line across a kitchen countertop? It's only about a 32 "cut
You can cut straight but need predrone line and a very good grip and a good extent of experience in using the roto zip it cut good in one direction if you go in the wrong direction it will pull it hard to one side or another off the line you need so practice first get to know it first before you cut some thing you dont want to mess up

Good tool, good price.
Works great, easy to change bits, very good for the price. Smooth enough to freehand reasonably straight lines if it doesn't have to be perfect. Would be nice if it had a tool-free way yo swap bits but it's still quick and easy to swap.

Make sure all items listed are inside the package
The product is good but the package indicates that it comes with two cutting bits but there was only one in the package.

Exactly as Expected
This product works exactly as i expected it to work. I use it to route electrical boxes out in drywall. It has been everything i expected it to be. I would recommend this to a friend or anyone else.

I bought this to cut holes in the ceilings for 24 recessed lights. It cuts through drywall like a hot knife through butter. Combined with the circle cutter attachment it makes perfect circles every time. Big time saver!

Good for metal outlets that are square/round
Doing renovations with installing electrical circuits for lights, outlets, switches that are square or round. Next is the drywall. Once you measure (before putting drywall up) where the edge or center of electrical mount is located, the RotoZip saw will make quick work of cutting the outside perimeter once you get the hang of it. I found it works best on metal outlet boxes, round light recessed lights, and metal HVAC vents. Where ever plastic was used, the RotoZip will slice right through its wall and cause, well, let me just say creative cuts in the drywall that need to be repaired. The RotoZip will also open the plastic sheathing on the electrical wires in the outlets if they are too close to the opening. If you take the extra steps of outlining on the face of the drywall the perimeter of the electrical outlet (square or round), one might have some success in minimizing divergent cuts. But, the spinning blade has torque coupled with the resistance from the drywall makes skirting the plastic edge a challenge when cutting with the RotoZip a challenge. One doesn't know if the resistance is from the drywall or the plastic wall until the cut is complete and you see the results. :o)
