Description
Rock-On screws are ideal if you are looking for an efficient fastening of cement boards (Hardie-Backer, Durock(R) or WonderBoard) and wood or lightweight steel studs. They feature a flat head with serrated contour for a firm, flush seating, which ensures a smooth, straight surface when installing tiling. The serrated thread and their sharp point allow quick installation and immediate pick up. Installation can be done with one hand using a drill/driver or a standard impact wrench, and the StikFit star drive featuring 6 points of contact (included). Each box contains 140 #10 x 1 5/8" screws.
- Use to attach cement board to wood or light gauge steel studs
- Serrated thread forms require less torque for faster installation
- Patented sharp point offers immediate pick-up and eliminates the need to pre-drill
- Ideal for use in high moisture areas such as showers, backsplashes, countertops, and floors
- Premium corrosion resistant finish
- Patented design allows attaching close to edge on cement board, drastically reducing fractures or blow outs
- Serrated head design for flush seating even at an angle
- Star drive with T-25 bit provides stickpin for easy one-handed installation and eliminates cam-outs
- Conforms to ANSI A108.11 standards for cement board attachment

Gets the Job Done
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These screws are designed for Hardi backer board. They appear to get the job done. When the board is cut narrow for tight spots I find that it helps to back the screw out once or twice to ream out the hole in the backer board or else it can crack and break the board. It adds time to the project, but so does patching break out holes with mortar. The heads of the screws are pleated to help dig out the board which helps but it doesn't cure all problems. The material is sturdy and I'm not experiencing any striped screws. The included bit is solid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Screwed the cement board directly to the subfloor I have to replace. Durable screws. Only thing I had a problem with is that some of the screws heads wasn’t cut out for the bit. Never had that happen before but it was only a few. Other than that they worked well and the cement board is solid and isn’t going anywhere.

Easy to sink screws into backer board!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love how these screws easily sink into backer board. Previously I have actually used sheetrock screws and used a countersink which takes twice as long!

CHANGE IS HARD...BUT WORTH IT
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm an older guy, I like hex heads, they don't strip out. I purchased these star heads with a little push from an in-store expert, a little older and wiser than I, and I love them. I will most likely begin using star heads from here on out! I love the way the screw sticks and stays, on the included drill driver tip, as long as needed to put it where it needs to go.

Depth of star drive too shallow!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have no idea why these screws have achieved such a high rating. The depth of the star drive is so shallow, and hardness of the hardibacker so hard that 90% of the time the star bit bends enough that the drill bit hits the hardibacker... or your hand! It takes quite a bit of pressure to start the screw, and the depth of the star drive is not sufficient to keep the bit in the screw! If there is another brand of these darn things, I suggest getting it!

Best screws for backer board
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These screw work the best for the Hardy Backer board. When you drive them in w]\using a 1/4" impact driver they countersink below the surface of the board making it easy to install the tile.
