Description

Rock-On screws are ideal if you are looking for an efficient fastening of cement boards (Hardie-Backer, Durock(R) or WonderBoard) and wood or lightweight steel studs. They feature a flat head with serrated contour for a firm, flush seating, which ensures a smooth, straight surface when installing tiling. The serrated thread and their sharp point allow quick installation and immediate pick up. Installation can be done with one hand using a drill/driver or a standard impact wrench, and the StikFit star drive featuring 6 points of contact (included). Each box contains 185 #10 x 1 1/4" screws.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Dave from Good product, bad labeling. These work and do exactly what they are supposed to do. Unfortunately for me, I made the mistake of reading the box and assuming that it would cover 6 3X5' backerboards. If you follow the manufacturers instructions on putting the backerboard down (Hardyboard brand), this box contains enough to lay down 2 sheets, not 6. Cost me another trip to town to get a second box. Oh well. Still a good product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Chris from great screws...just dont go as far as the box says Installed nearly 4 full sheets of 3’ x 5’ backerboard today using these screws. The screws worked great...just took a little muscle to get them started. My only issue is the box says these cover at least 6 3’ x 5’ boards. There werent quite enought to cover 4 if you follow the spacing recommendation of the hardi board manufacturer.

I took out a floor put down around 1957. I put down a sub-floor, then needed help. Here is when I was introduced to "backer board" and the "Backer-On Cement Board Screws". Worker much better than any nail and faster.
