Description
Ultracolor Plus FA with DropEffect technology is an ultra-premium, fine-aggregate, fast-setting, polymer-modified, colour-consistent, non-shrinking, efflorescence-free grout for joint widths from 1/16" to 3/4" (1.5 mm to 19 mm). DropEffect reduces surface absorption to help repel water, dirt and grime from penetrating grout joints. Ultracolor Plus FA is specially formulated with MAPEI's High-Hydrated Cement Technology (HCT) to eliminate the common problems related to Portland-cement grout, such as colour consistency and efflorescence. Along with offering higher polymer content, HCT reduces absorption and increases stain resistance when compared with standard-performance cement grouts. Available in a 4.54 kg bag..

Grout newbie here. I only need to use a bit of this grout. Will the product left in the bag be good to use months/years later if I close the bag?

Excellent when used correctly.
Successfully filled the 1/32 inch gap between tile and profile edge (see pic). Super impressed!
Some tips that helped me:
- you must become familiar with this product before tackling a big, expensive or important project. Do something small / inconsequential first
- Seal tiles prior to grouting to prevent hazing or premature hardening of grout on face of tile
- test color first - mix and apply very small amount of grout to a scrap piece of tile first and let dry over night. Observe the sample in the room’s native lighting conditions. (See pic of my grout color palette and yeah, I tested 3 different colors cuz I’m that picky).
- mix by hand with 1 inch scraper when doing multiple smaller batches. Product sets fast. Use consistent water proportions between batches (measure with scale if you have to).
- ring grout sponge out as much as possible to prevent color washout
