Whole house high flow filter system. Features unique double oO” ring assembly to ensure leak-proof operation even under strenuous operating conditions. This all-polypropylene housing accepts 10"x 4½” double-open end cartridges. Cartridge not included.

How often do you need to change the filter, and what is the replacement cartridge?
There is a choice of replacement cartridges available at Lowe's and it depends on your water supply. If your water supply is relatively clean, Rainfresh BP5) (5 micron) (Lowe's 271772) would be recommended. You could also go for even finer filtration with Rainfresh BC101 (1 micron) (Lowe's 271769). On the other hand, if the supply water is a bit dirty from time to time, you can install Rainfresh BP25 (25 micron) (Lowe's 271773).
If you are installing this housing to serve only 2 or 3 drinking water faucets and are looking for chlorine and taste/odour reduction, you can install Rainfresh BC2 carbon cartridge (Lowe's 271766).

Is the mounting bracket included?
Mounting bracket is not included but can be purchased separately at Lowe's, it is item number 271802.

I'm wondering if this filter needs to be perfectly upright or if it can be installed sideways on a pipe running almost straight up and down.
I just installed this filter. The adapter kit uses a push in connector which if not in perfectly aligned will leak. So to answer this question for leveling, adjusting of the bracket and the opening it to install new filter it would be advisable to mount it horizontal. Vertical would present so many problems.

Hello, I want to install a filter. Currently my house has a 1.5hp engine that takes the water from a well. But lately I have seen sediments in the water. I wonder if this filter is good only for sediments or if it also serves to remove bacteria?

Bought this to replace smaller rainfresh product that served us well for whole cottage until we put in a high flow pump . Old system choked up in a week . This now gives us the high flow and filter life we should be getting with a 1.5hp pump. Great product good price .buy the mounting bracket and pipe hook up kit too way cheaper than cooper adapters and works perfectly.

All round excellent
I have been using this filter in my 8 bedroom, 4 washroom cottage for 5 years. I change the filter yearly. It performs wonderfully and extracts the minimal clay sediment completely. It lives up to its reputation. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
