Are the deck boards easily removable at the end of the season to take the dock out of the water? Or do they need to be permanently attached to the frame? Thanks
Entirely your decision to make. Weight with boards installed is not an issue and the only screws attaching decking to frame (six on each section) are easily removed, if necessary.
I will not be removing from frames unless maintenance is required.
BTW: I used cedar decking and it looks amazing!

How is the dock anchored for inclement weather- it may not an issue but we have a shallow sandy landing in a smaller lake.
For sandy bottom drive the polls in about 1 foot and place a couple cement blocks over the polls to hold the feet in place. This will work for most situations.

Can I park a 19 foot boot on this dock ?? Is it strong enough?
Hello Dannag,
This dock has been design to be ultralight to ease the installation and winterising operations. A aluminum stationary dock is not made to withstand lateral pressure that a boat can put to its structure. Also, when the boat will move under wave action, the dock lines will pull on the fixed dock. so it's good for temporary mooring but when your away you must moor it on a boat lift or away from the dock, on its own anchorage.

Does this dock come with the decking?
It doesn’t. But it’s very easy to install. It could be pressure treated, cedar, composite or other

Are there pre-drilled holes in the legs for adjustments or are the clamps just tighten around the legs?
Hello Shoey,
The posts are easily adjustable at dock height with 1/2" hex bolts. There are also bolts on base plates to pound the pile in the ground. So the post can be adjust at ground level when installing the dock in spring depending on muddy or hard bottom.

Kit appears to come with one pair of poles/legs. How do multiple sections connect? How much 5/4 x 6" decking is required per section?
Just a note to give the right length of the 2 posts: they are 6 ft. long. (72 in.) each.

Hi, can the 4x8 sections be joined together to make a 8x8 dock (patio area dock)?
Good morning Aruba, yes QP-427 can be installed side-by-side but only 2 posts are included in each box. This dock kit has been designed to have a first section starting from shore, with the 2 posts at the other end, in the water. So if you want to have your dock near the shore you will be able to lay them on shore then add the posts at the other ends.
Note that with another section installed as a gangway to the platform, you will have all the legs that you'll need. If you need more legs to install it as a stand alone deck you will have to get 2 more posts with an outside diameter of 1 11/16". Every Multinautic steel posts have this diameter. If you don't want it too high, you can also cut the 6 ft. long included posts.
In one box, you will find a lateral adaptor for side-by-side layout. Getting 2 boxes gives you the pair that you will need to connect.
If you need more information, please don't hesitate to contact our technical team at 1-800-585-1237.

Hi there. What is the difference between this dock and your QP400 dock kit(21011)?
Hello Mike,
QP-400 (#21011) & QP-427 (#21111) are part of the 400 Series Ultralite Aluminum Boxed Docks. Both models include 2 posts (6’), base plates, adaptors for straight, "L" or side-by-side layouts and a 4’ x 8’ aluminum structure to assemble. As they are installed on posts, you may install as many sections as you need. You may also add wheel kits for easy removal for winter.
QP-400 aluminum sides extrusions have a "C" channel to insert the decking planks for a nice finish.
QP-427 aluminum extrusion have tracks to allow easy installation of mooring cleats with special "T"-head bolts (both sold separately),
instead of having to pierce the decking. It also allows you to easily change the location of the cleats to fit your needs.
All you need to complete both dock assembly is the decking material
(you may use the new kind of treated wood but we recommand cedar).

I understand that pressure treated wood is not recommended and to use cedar. What about the new pressure treated Sienna which is the brown colour? Is that usable!
Hello Morris, this new treated wood is a lot less corrosive. You shouldn't encounter any problem with it. Just keep in mind that you need 5/4" (1 in. thick) boards.

Do you mean one section needs 9 - 6inch by 8ft by 1inch thick boards? I'm confused by 6ft by 8ft. Tx
It needs 10 5/4”x8 feet boards per section. 8 on top and 2 as stringers on the bottom. Cedar is better but more expensive

Went togeather with no fitting problems.
I have only had the dock a short time but it seems to be great. It was a little more work to build than I thought, but nothing serious. It is very sturdy and looks great.

Easy Assembly
I bought this kit for a fixed doc at the cottage. I needed something relatively light weight I could put in and out of the river every year. This is an easy assembly kit. I bought the cedar boards separately and cut and placed them in the doc frame. All good so far.
